Couple other things I learned

Jersey has Dallas’ first round pick and the Zombies have Phoenix’s first rounder.

makes me think the Kings need to get another pick

Especially to keep up with the progression of OKC. We all know what wonders Petrie can do with middle to low picks. If K9, Noc, Beno, or Cisco get moved, it better be include either a pick this season or the next.

On the Kings

I think 36 wins is a lot, but I guess not impossible. We would have to go 27-36 the rest of the way which is pretty ambitious.

I started the season predicting 27 wins and I will wait until the end of the calendar year to see if I move up to the 30-32 range. That’s me

I'll have to wait

Until we see how potent we are with KM back.
If he gets back before the end of the year and it goes well, I can imagine something close to a .500 record the rest of the way.

36 seems kind of crazy

I said 24 before the season, and I’ll stick with it, even if I’d not be shocked to see them win as many as 28. Still, I may try to convince you that we can win 36, and you can stop by my place to talk about it and drink Kool-aid.

Guyana thanks you

I had the Kings at 23 (revised from 24) because I felt that increasing the road total by 3 and the home record by 3 was a reasonable goal. Since then, reason has fallen by the wayside.

my Kool-aid has turned from purple Jones to a more relaxed variety with a bit more punch these young Kings have moxie

I now expect the home cooking to continue but not at the rate just seen. Increase the home record to 19-23 leave the road record in the shambles it now displays (8 wins by account, though I have to say, Tyreke will be more of a force down the road, so add 1 to make it 9-32) and the Kings records rises to 28. If it doesn’t happen, call me Leo Ryan and be done with it.

Before the season, I (honestly) thought that 30 wins was possible.

So, I came into the season figuring that if the Kings get 30 wins, I’ll be happy.

Now, I honestly think (and this is bold prediction territory) that the KINGS WILL HAVE at least 35 wins on the season. It’s not a stretch at all.

The reason for optimism was this (these were my thoughts BEFORE the season started): last season the Kings played as poorly as they possibly could have…it was bound to better by at least a game or two (19 W’s); added PW, good for 3-5 W’s (21-24 W’s); added Tyreke, good for 5 W’s (26-29 W’s); Kevin Martin certainly will not have ANOTHER injurious season, good for at least another 5 W’s (31-34 W’s); Hawes and Thompson will have developed and refined their game, good for another 3-5 W’s (34-39 W’s); Kings will trade K9 at deadline for valuable piece, good for 2-5 W’s (36-44 W’s); adjust best case scenario for inherent “fan bias” by deducting approximately 25% of total W’s (33 W’s); subtract another 3 wins in order to purposefully temper expectations (30 W’s). Viola!

It’s more than doable.

Thunder 83% chance of making playoffs?

I think we have as good a chance to make the playoffs as the Thunder. It may be a little early for them to start printing tickets.

No we don't

The Thunder have a much more complete roster and a closer in Kevin Durant. They are about a year ahead of us in development. I’m confident we will eventually catch them and pass them up, but right now they are better than us.

I said 28 before the season

But now I think it will be in the lower 30s.

The brown lining to the silver cloud of Hollinger's prediction

This places the Kings at the 10th worst team come 2010 draft night. Mediocrity spawns mediocrity in the NBA. I am not calling for losses but…

I would rather see this Kings season either worse or better. Playoffs or 5-6th worst record for a chance at 7th or better pick. I don’t see it happening but just putting it out there.
