I think attendance numbers
might just be tickets bought? Not a function of who actually showed up. I recall the Kings @ Milwaukee game that was 2/3rds empty had a reported attendance of 15k or so, which I found unbelievable.

On the news last night...
they (sorry, I don’t watch the news enough to know any of the sportscasters by name) said that the number released was based entirely on ticket sales and that ‘clearly there were a lot loss fans in attendance’. They also took a few minutes to hammer the NBA scheduling committee.
