"We looked at it," Kings co-owner Joe Maloof told ESPN.com when asked about Stoudemire. "Never say never, but right now, no."

I agree
The pick and Thompson — that’s a damn high price, and I’d be inclined to wait it out.

Agreed
JT or Hawes and the Houston pick is my limit, and even that would sting.
CC’s idea of the 2010 pick is also to my liking, as you would hope that Stoudemire and Martin would combine to at least pull this team back into the middle of the pack, meaning that we would be giving up a 10-20 pick in 2010.

Especially considering how weak the other offers are
I wouldn’t trade shock and the lead in the Blake Griffin sweepstakes.

I agree as well
But if we can get him for one or the other, we need to seriously think about it. Instead of focusing soley on saving money, they can focus on making more money. No one knows when the economy will improve, but the Kings can put more butts in the seats now by bringing in a legitimate star.

It's

Damn
That’s my trade, although I want to give them next year’s No.1.

So now we know today's price
Last year’s and this year’s first rounders along with some expiring.
That would mean on the Sacramento side the Kings keep B52, K9 to get Amare .
To me, the Kings don’t win significantly more games this season, the pick is 1-5 or 1-6, (with SacLuck, the #1) and Kleenex does an even bigger business in the Greater Sacramento Metropolitan Area. For next season they have the above three expiring contracts as trade fodder as FA Fest starts over-pricing the entire player market (the very good through mediocre good talent in particular) as owners are squeezed with the now announced lower salary cap. I think this also over-prices draft picks (as they are cheap and overall draft is considered more talented).I also believe having too much expiring actually limits your options as you become the biggest supplier in a high supply market (many other teams with expiring deals for 2010).
Funny how Steiny-Mo has Tyson Chandler as a “new” idea. Couple of other interesting confirmatory “value” comments for us Kings Fans: Jason Thompson must have big upside as he is the major piece of this trade (unless you think it is the unknown 1-5 pick), Beno Udrih and his $20+ M contract is poison, John Salmons and his MLE pay scale is very desirable.

I can't give up our #1
our Houston pick, next years maybe
Not our #1

I don't think the Suns are going to let Amar'e go just yet
I think they’ll wait till the summer now, see how Gentry does with this group. The Suns won’t be able to start rebuilding until Shaq’s contract is done anyway. And nobody wants Shaq’s contract.

Maybe Phoenix will take our Houston pick instead of this year's #1
…if we tell them we’ll let Petrie make the pick for them.
