Source: Kings-Wolves Discussing Trade?

The Kings have been negotiating with the Timberwolves on a deal that could land them guard Rashard McCants, according to league sources.

Sacramento is reportedly interested in sending guard Quincy Douby forward Mikki Moore to Minnesota for McCants.

That doesn't work under the salary cap

Therefore, I question the deal is valid, or who else the deal includes from the Minnesota end.

We'd have to take Cardinal back right?

I’m not sure what the benefit would be of this trade, unless the Kings have a team on the hook for Beno. Even then, we’d be adding salary this season and next season for a marginal PG.

Now if it’s Collins coming back…that might be a different story. Not sure why Minny would do that, unless they think Douby has upside.

Uhm.

McCants is an undersized shooting guard, last I checked. Unless Salmons gets shipped out, what use do we have for anyone at 2 or 3? Especially a scrub like McCants?

That’s the only scenario that saves us significant cap space. Dumping Mikki and Q for space is fine IMO…but not sure why we would want McCants either.
