I still just don't believe this

New Jersey is shedding salary, and I see no reason why they would take on more salary for next year while giving up Ryan Anderson in the process.

This seems to me like the front office putting on a good show for the fans.

Uhhh..... from that link:

With less than 24 hours remaining before Thursday’s trade deadline, the Sacramento Kings have reached agreement that would ship Brad Miller and John Salmons to the Chicago Bulls for a package that includes Drew Gooden and Andres Nocioni.

Sources say the Dallas Mavericks offered Jerry Stackhouse for Salmons, and the San Antonio Spurs were willing to part with Bruce Bowen and Ime Ukoda for him. Both Stackhouse and Bowen have partial guarantees for next season – $2 million each – that are cost prohibitive to Sacramento. League executives say the Kings preferred a straight expiring deal for Salmons before they found the Bulls’ deal

Fuck you
Miller’s presence could conceivably clear the way for Chicago to move one of its young pivotmen, either Tyrus Thomas or Joakim Noah, in another deal.

Thomas should be in This deal.

Not even a pick

seriously, wtf? We traded Salmons for nothing, for arguably negative value.

by discocricket on Feb 18, 2009 1:50 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

Well

Now that our only tradeable assets are gone, I’m going to go back to work. Possibly to throw up.

Great. Andres Nocionio. At least we came up with a great nickname even before he was a King:

Nooooooooooooooo! cioni.

We gave it away for negative value.

Agreed dude

Somebody with a much better understanding of bball needs to explain this to me cuz I don’t get it. I mean it’s GP; he’s really fucking smart. So, WTF????!!!!!

Everyone loses it eventually

GP lost it in the trading department a couple seasons ago.

The reality is

We aren’t positioning ourselves to be players in the market next year or the year after…we are in fire sale mode to save some coin.

At least, that’s how the cynical side of me sees this…

have to console ourselves with the notion that Firesale Kings > San Jose Kings, I guess.

Something else better be on the horizon, you think?

Is it bad I’m hoping Portland gets Gerald so I can abandon the Kings? I know the answer is yes but my hopes for the teams future just took a serious hit.

We needed TZ to do a K9 fund for the Kings so that way we could avoid giving away are assets

for no picks and long contracts.

I think Brown has to be going too

like this.

otherwise we send out 2 and get back 4 which would mean we have to waive somebody.
