Really, I'm most saddened by the loss of Mikki Moore, despite arguing (repeatedly) for said player to be benched. Brad Miller has been here forever, John Salmons had been a revelation, Quincy Douby will always be in my heart ... and I miss Mikki Moore.

I liked Mikki!
and I will miss him. Seriously.
If the dude had any hands he’s have a had a good NBA career. Obviously a great guy.

LTG nailed it
He’s just a good guy – somebody who seems genuine and also compelling personally. I didn’t appreciate his game, but I did appreciate his personality and his thoughtfulness.

Agreed
As much as I threw my remote at the television when Mikki and Brad got out-rebounded by undersized players and as much as I cursed Reggie Theus at the time for letting Quincy Douby take those last second shots when the game was on the line…I honestly am going to miss these guys, they are great people and I wish them the best in the future

Could someone please pick this guy off waivers and eat this contract.
I have nothing nice to say so I will not say anything at all.

Danny Ainge isn’t that stupid.

Question
If Boston or any other team picks Mikki up off waivers, does that alleviate some of what we have to pay him? Making this an even better financial deal?
by Aykis16 on Feb 19, 2009 8:07 PM PST reply actions 0 recs
if you pick up a player off waivers
You take his whole salary from the other team that waived him. Do you think any NBA team will do that?

Everybody -
Let’s give Mikki a big hand. In fact, let’s give him two hands.
I’ll miss lobster claws, crab hands, the venus de mikki, and bluetooth. Whenever I see food slide off of a teflon skillet, I’ll think of Mikki Moore.

It's more like
whenever you see a ball bounce off a wall it’ll remind you of Mikki. His hands weren’t soft enough for things to just slide off.
That said, I like Mikki and wish him the best.

I felt pretty sad when I heard Mikki was waived
With his limitation he was still all effort and he was always supporting his teammates. Yes, he frustrated the hell out of us but this just wasn’t a good situation for him. I hope a title contender picks him up soon and maybe he’ll be able to help them get far in the playoffs, hell, even get a championship. He’s a good energy big off the bench and could help the Spurs, Cavs, or Celts. I personally wish he goes to San Anton and helps them beat the Lakers in the WCF…

The Spurs would be a great fit for him
I could totally see him going there.

Although a cold-blooded crustacean...
He played with real heart and passion.
In the Sacramento era, history may prove the Mikki years to be the worst ever; and yet, even when benched he waved his pincers round, towel clutched and crablocks whipping furiously, stalked eyes flashing, mandible clenched in a frightening scowl.
At the very least he really seemed to carapace about his bottom dwelling team.
Thanks Mikki – good luck to you.

I felt bad for him
You could see waiving Sam and Douby, Mikki is just sorta “what, what did I do?”. Maybe he ends up happier finishing out with a winning team though.

Hopefully for the best
As much as we liked him it had to be hell on him to be spending his last couple years on a rebuilding team. I hope he gets picked up by someone and goes deep in the playoffs. He was always professional for the Kings.

Mikki, good luck. I hope you get picked up and win a championship.

Ode To Mikki
(Caveat: this is terrible).
Mr. Moore, we’ll miss you
For while you let the ball go
Around and through
Or just missed it
With your massive claws
We liked you,
Because
You yelled, you clapped,
You bumped the chest(s)
Even when we were last
In the West.
You played like you cared
Like you knew
This gig – your gig -
Was for a select few.
We hope you catch on
In Boston
Or somewhere
They’ll be playing in May.
So we can watch
As we wait for November,
And better days.
You were forewarned.
