Jason Thompson, Kings
On his way out of town, Brad Miller mentioned that Thompson needs to stop complaining to the referees so much. It's time JT does exactly that. He's not getting calls, but neither are most rookies on most nights.

It's true Thompson plays with toughness and gets into lots of contact situations. But maintaining his composure and just battling hard every night accomplishes two things: (1) It keeps him focused on the tasks at hand, and (2) prevents him from earning a rep as a whiner. Both are net positives for Thompson and the Kings.

Question is?

Did Jason tell Brad the same thing as Brad was leaving town?

At least

Jason has the excuse of being young – there’s a chance he will learn. Brad’s pretty much a lost cause.

Good thing is, Jason hasn’t perfected the art of the “referee retaliation foul” yet.

He'll be fine...

So long as he doesn’t develop Sasha Vujacic’s prima donna reputation.

Hahahaha! Rec'd.

This is why...

I think JT needs to just sucker punch somebody. He gets called for a lot of fouls so he might as well foul hard to make it worth it.

Hmmm....

How’d that work out for Zach Randolph?

by PhutureKings on Feb 25, 2009 5:53 PM PST up reply actions

Big difference

Zach Randolph is a douche bag, JT is not.

I don’t really want him to hit somebody, but he’s gonna get called for fouls no matter what, so why not make ‘em count? Remember that C-Webb vignette for his jersey retirement where he talked about that first playoff series against the Jazz and how he laid out John Stockton? That’s what I want from JT.

Uhh.....

Not to rag, JT, but we all gotta talk about something and it’s not like this team is racking up wins. So if the Kings are even getting discussed on ESPN it’s gonna pretty much be one of three things:

Look how bad the Kings are, they lost by two trillion points last night!

Did you see Kevin Martin post 43 points on 2 shots against the Grizzlies?

Yeah the kins are young and fun, but Jason Thompson needs to stay on the floor and not turn into the reincarnation of BM52, the man who never gets a call, whines about it, and frowns all over the court in protest.

The moral is if you don’t want people to complain about yr whining the easiest solution is to start winning games. We all hate Kobe, but he’s got rings and metals to reinforce his bad attitude. You’ve got 19 minutes a game.

If yr not happy with the results, lower yr expectations.

This is why I hate the NBA

Many of those calls against Hawes and JT are atrocious. We’re suppose to expect that as a norm because they don’t have as big a “name” as other players, what other sport are there different rules depending on who is playing? 80 games means about 30 meaningless games which every player has figured out so they decide when to play hard. 3 month playoffs is a joke. Thank you David Stern for your maximizing marketing dollars for the sanctity of the game.

Miller should have showed him how to defend like a matador.

That will keep him out of foul trouble.
