Beno Udrih will reportedly play, and probably start (I would guess). This game is either the Kings' best opportunity for a win against the East, or only opportunity for a win against the East. Depending on your current seratonin levels.

UPDATE: Amick reports via Twitter that Francisco Garcia will start at point guard. Ultra-giant line-up! Yeah!

I didn’t take that into consideration myself, but if the worst team in the league rarely gets the 1 pick, then the Kings really need to the worst record to at least get the 4th (or 2nd, or 3rd)
Btw, the only team I wouldn’t mind getting the 1st is the Wiz. Probaly because the are so far away and we wouldn’t have to go through them in the future. Not that I want that to happen, but I’d much rather they get it, than Memphis or OKC (especially them).
That said, Go Kings!!! Beat an eastern conference team!!! Please!!

I think the thunder is the worst posible outcome
Because they are going to be SOOOO good with a core of Durant, Westbrook, Green, and Griffin (if they indeed get him).
The Clippers can always find a way of screwing it up, that’s the way I see it

There's a strong argument
That OKC might be better without Griffin and with Harden. But, I doubt anybody would argue that right now. Unless the Thunder go really small with Griffin as the C, I find it hard to believe they could ever function with Griffin as the PF, Green as the SF and Durant as the SG. (Maybe Green could move down to the SG though. That’s a good possibility they would have to consider. And, certainly, they would consider it.)

They can acquire a servicable C eventually. They almost had Chandler who is more than serviceable and there is no reason to expect that if they got Griffin they wouldn’t make that trade this summer, turf toe be damned.

Rubio woul help that team more than anyone IMO. Westbrook is really a SG and they need a distributor PG who can find them all shots. Now forget I said that because I don’t want to jinx it

Very much disagree
Weaver and Sefalosha are fine 2 guards in the league, if anything I think that the Thunder declared that they wouldn’t take a 2 guard by giving up a late pick for another wing guy that starts alongside Weaver. If their team stays like it does then I would say that their draft wishlist is Griffin & Thabeet…and thats it.

If they don’t get Griffin. They have a lot less needs than the Kings do. 3 top 5 picks in 2 years helps in that regard as well.

The bigs continue to show progress
That’s my takeaway from this game.
Martin has spoiled us with his free throw shooting. Sometimes I wish he’d look like he cared a little more. There was a play towards the end where he started down the middle, got kind of jacked up by the defender and said screw it. I think it might have been on the same play where he ended up taking the shot across the key that Peaches said he couldn’t decide whether to bank it or swish it.
I’m not too excited to see Beno back, but hopefully he will be in the lineup the rest of the way and we’ll see what we have.

Beno and "excited" aren't used here much unless it's used in sentences like

Didn't see too much of the game (damn meetings)
…but the starters looked good from their box scores. Everyone scored in double figures and it seemed like everyone got into the flow.
JT with a double double (14 pts, 14 rebs and 4 blocks), Hawes with 20pts/9 rebs, KMart with 24pts/3rebs, Noce with 16 pts/3rebs, Garcia with 11pts/4/rebs/4assists/2 blocks.
And Beno came in and contributed 10 pts and 7 assists.
Good effort but still, it’s a loss. Good for the Griffin lottery and for record for futility against East teams. Bad for fans and players.

Sorry, I may have miscommunicated my intent.
The loss (or any loss) is never good per se. We all want to win.
The loss was “good” only for the Griffin lottery and the futility record as entities. A win would have “killed” the record (hence, the record sighed in relief) and the lottery would have received a serious blow to its survival if the loss became a win.
There can only be one Noce!
With respect to the game,
Our team is playing better and more cohesively, our youngsters are getting plenty of playing time, the games have been competitive, and we are still in a great position to get a quality first round pick.
Really what more could we ask for.
Not to mention the common bond we have created with all Sactownroyalty bloggers,
with respect for our disgust of “Nat Hole”.

This is all true
The problem as I see it is that there’s no discernible direction for this team at the moment. Speculation points to a long-term reinstitution of the Princeton, possibly via Eddie Jordan, and a return to the system that brought us so much success in the earlier part of this decade, but it’s only speculation. Nobody in the front office has come out and said that this is the plan. I would like the enunciation of some sort of long term plan to the fans.
Also an arena deal that would keep the Kings here and be profitable. So, those two things are what I could ask for.

Hopefully there are some behind the scenes conversations taking place with respect to replacing Nat.
Hopefully the Maloof’s don’t go to cheap as a qualified coach will be a necessity especially considering the average age of our roster.
The arena deal seems a bit monumental with the current economic conditions but, I guess we just keep our fingers crossed.
