Donte Greene, Kings
Greene has some maturity issues to deal with, as evidenced when he took a prank too far with vet Bobby Jackson. And he's got a lot to learn about how to be a productive NBA player. But I love his spirit at every game. Oftentimes, spirit alone can be a foundation for a young player, especially one with the size and skills of Greene.

Yeah, that’s pretty much what Thorpe was saying. But, his point that emotion drives Donte is an important one. It’s like the argument that taking away JT’s emotions will help make him a better player. That isn’t true at all. Finding a way to allow his emotions to drive him while not letting them out of his control is what JT needed to do, and has done, for the most part since all the outcry over his fouls.
Donte, on the other hand, needs to figure out what he’s trying to do against certain players each time he’s on the court. He hasn’t adjusted to the speed, or what he needs to bring. If the Kings had more veteran players, I imagine Donte’s abilities would work better than they do now.
No mistakes in the tango, darling. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....

Remember during the 2007 draft?
One of the main reasons people liked Oden over Durant was “you can’t teach size.” Which is true. In the same vein, you can’t teach heart. I’ll take a bunch of effort-filled boneheaded youngsters who just need to learn over guys who just don’t care but still win any day of the week.
I really hope I’m right about the Levien/Thorpe connection. If a bunch of our players, namely JT and Donte (and Spence even), could work with Thorpe this summer they’d be much improved.

I remember
People were wrong then even though they wouldn’t admit it.

Yuup
Would you have taken Oden over Durant in 2007?

I have no idea
But at the time I was more worried about the Bulls stealing Joakim Noah from us… so what do I know. Although, the decision between Oden and Durant was a tough one that I went back and forth on. I sure hope I would have chosen Durant.
Do you think Kevin Pritchard wakes up in the middle of the night to answer his phone and just hears Sam Presti laughing maniacally?

Nah
I think Pritchard knew there was a possibility of this with Oden.

That was too far for David Thorpe?
Obviously he’s never sealed his friend’s truck bed with caulk and filled it up with water and freshly caught fish.

Probably
because they are starting now for playoff teams. He is high on JT. I wish Donte would continue to try to go to the basket as he develops his shot.

I know he seems to say nice things about everyone
but Thorpe seems to be high on the Kings men. I know he’s said he doesn’t want a NBA coaching job, but… really, the only way I’ll be on board with Eddie Jordan this summer is if he keeps Coachie and brings Thorpe into the mix.
