New York Knicks 22 21 28 23 94

Complete Coverage >

There is no other way to explain a 28-point win on the road by this team.

Wait! yes there is. There's some talent here. Maybe 3/5th of a (hold your breath) good starting line-up. Said 3/5th -- Kevin Martin with 30 points on 22 shooting possessions, Jason Thompson with 18 points and 12 rebounds, and Spencer Freaking Hawes with 18 points (on 13 FGAs), 13 rebounds, five assists, only one turnover, and a game-high +36.

Haute.

Bravo to Beno Udrih and Francisco Garcia as well. All-out hellfire.

We may not be great, but...

we aren’t the fanbase of quitters. Hawes said, ""We said, ’We’ve got two more, so we better get this one and then try to go get the one on Sunday, too.’ "

That, to me, doesn’t sound like we’re tanking. You don’t whip a team by 28, you don’t run with the cavs and push them to OT, and you don’t say that you have “Must win” games if you’re jockeying for ping-pong balls. Maybe it’s bunch of Hot Air, but I think we’re due for some good luck from spain or Oklahoma. I love this team.

First...

First time posting on STR, and wanted to thank all in the community for a great place to be a Kings fan. Love the W, of course, but had to comment on two things I’ve heard far too much.

1-The Kings are not tanking, and even the suggestion is a bit ridiculous. There isn’t a Lebron type player available to even tank for. And we all know the being worst doesn’t mean getting the top pick. Please, no more tanking talk. It’s illogical.
2- And please, please quit with the K-Mart can’t play D and doesn’t hustle talk. He is injured. End of story. You can see it when/how he plays. The real question I’d like answered is, will Kevin recover fully from this injury after the season ends, or is it chronic? Hope not….

Can't say that I emphasize your

request for the mentioned discussions to stop. But I do agree with your assessment. I think Speedracer’s defensive inadequacies are overblown, and the tanking talk is pure speculation.

Other than that, welcome.

Welcome

Its been a painful season, which makes it hard not to dwell on even your best players deficiencies. Not something I do personally, I think he’d start and thrive on just about every team in the league, but I get it, we want him to be Superman sometimes when he’s more of a Spidey guy.

anyway, welcome again.

I missed the game (of course) but WOW!

I attended the pre-firing debacle that was the Knicks-Kings game in December – the first quarter ended 43-22 and was (Bill Walton help me here) Horrribbbllle. Even when the Kings were winning 55+ games a season, MSG haunted this team.

I am impressed and delighted. And big ups to young Master Hawes for showing his vertebrae after the disappointing outing against Atlanta. Winning big is always bigger on “basketball’s biggest stage”, the Garden.

Wish they played like this when I went. I payed good money for those tickets. This win almost makes up for it though

Offense, thy name is Princeton

I caught most of the second half, and I had to check my calendar. Reminded me of the good old days. Off the ball movement. Quick, precise passes. A big white center dropping dimes from the high post. Creating mismatches. Rebounding.

In a season full of dark clouds, every now and then we’re rewarded with a ray of sunshine and hope. Damn it feels good to be a diehard.

Best win of the season

along with the one against those that will remain unmentioned. Shock and Hawes brought it tonight. Good show.

The View from Section 111 (of MSG)

I live in NYC and took my girlfriend to the game last night. What we saw was a strange, strange spectacle. But I’ll just share one thing:

Ike Diogu missed his first four (4!) layups in the halftime layup line. Cisco ooped it to Shawes, Donte did a reverse double clutch jam, Speed went up and under on the other side. Diogu missed four layups. Then he parlayed that halftime performance into allowing Nate Robinson to stuff a turnaround jumper in the second half. I’m not totally convinced this guy can dunk. Do we have video evidence of that from this season?

Just sayin’

I think

we should resign him as an excellent backup big. He averaged like 8 a game his rookie year…he has lots of talent.

Hope

If we get Blake Griffin

We won’t need him as a backup big. But I would rather have Rubio.

Beno and Spencer

got things rollin’ early and they kept on going from there. I can’t remember the last time I watched a Kings game and felt confident the game was over in the 3rd quarter.

When was the Kings last blow out?

The lakers???

If i recall correctly we were up close to twenty mid 4th qtr against them…trying to save Theus’ job.

add them to the list for next years' schedule

We are playing the Clippers 80 times, the Lakers at home and the Knicks away.
