Spencer Hawes will be a Bettter Passer and Offensive Play Maker than Brad Miller
there is no doubt about this in my mind. He is simply going to be a better passer than Brad. I think he already is as good and we are going to see a lot more stat lines like last nights over the next 7-8 years. Brad miller never could have done anything close to what Spencer did last night when he was 20 years old. Not only that but you add in that Spencer is more athletic and has a wider range of offensive moves and i think he is going to be an all star. The future is not as bleak as it might seem, we just need to get a point guard that will actually give hime the ball! and we need to run the offense through him

I agree with a lot of your points
I just wish you gave more examples and expanded on them some more. This had great potential for a fanpost.

I doubt it
No slight on Spencer, but Brad was amazing. You don’t really need a whole lot of moves as a center other than face-up jumper from the high post which Brad ran to perfection. I think the number moves Spencer has will make him the better offensive force by a wide margin, but on the topic of playmaking.. No No No.

The jury will be out for a while
a year or two at least.
But he looks good lately (defense young man!!)

i agree..
but then if the kings go back and blueprint the glory days, then Rubio wouldn’t be as necessary (however, it would be a very welcome addition), but your point about spencer is right, him and shock should control the offense from the high post, just like c-webb and vlade, therefore, the pg should be able to shoot, just like Bibby. And as long as Spencer keeps on duplicating those types of assist games, he’ll be the next great point-center.

Repeating the same thing over & over and expecting a different outcome
Is the sign of insanity. Bibby, C-Webb, & Vlade were fun, but they didn’t win any championships. Why repeat the type of team. Besides JT is no CWebb, and he’s probably not goin to be.
Quite fixating on offense(not you sup just everyone in general). Defense wins Championships.

Shoulda coulda woulda, I realize...
But I don’t think you can dismiss that type of team as a viable template, just because they didn’t win a championship. Fact is, they were clearly capable of winning the whole shebang, and events conspired (self-inflicted and otherwise) that prevented it from happening.
However, you are correct about defense. What finally separated that team from a decent playoff team to a championship level squad was the improvement on the defensive end of the floor – most notably having Vlade in the post to defend against the larger centers, and having Doug Christie and Bobby Jackson play effective perimeter defense. If I recall correctly, the 2002-2003 team was the best field goal percentage defense in the league. At that point, they became a legitimate contender for the title.

There is no defense
for lousy free throw shooting, terrible officiating, a knee injuries.
I don’t disagree with your sentiments as it pertains to defense, just the example that you used.

Hawes is one of the few bright spots on this miserable team
How many centers in the league can dish out 9 assists, and at his age, this kid is going to be something special. I just wish he would work on his rebounding. Either he has very small hands, or is just lazy on the defensive end. If he ever gets to his full potential, I could see him averaging 16 pts, 9 rebs, 4 assists, and block every night. Next to bring in a coach that can actually incorporate an offense around Hawes. Eddie Jordan and the revival of the Princeton Offense???
