Lots, lots and lots of discontent from Nocioni
Dissatisfied with his health and dissatisfied with his performance this year overall... But, mostly dissatisfied with Sacramento. With individualism and the lack of team-chemistry, with results and with the near future hopes of the very young and individualistic team. Still, decided to work as hard as he can and to do what he can for the team, but if there was a chance he would be hapy to join a contender. The highlight? 'Sacramento is more interested in saving money than in the development of the team.' Quite disturbing reading.
(A rough summary, I think, if someone with language abilities might check it...)

My Spanish is rusty
But not so rusty that I can’t read that he is one angry hombre. He talks about the possibility of the team moving, calling the situation unstable.
I hope he’s just frustrated by his injuries and the many losses and not an habitual malcontent.

What concerns me are statements such as
‘Si Chicago era una banda, Sacramento son dos bandas’ (If Chicago was a team, Sacramento is two teams)
by KingsFanfromCentralEurope on Mar 25, 2009 7:07 AM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
That is concerning...
…as is the notion that Sac has the same “individualismo” as Chicago. I blame that on a lack of a point guard, one who can integrate the players into a unit. Although I think, as Big Nuts alludes to, the presence of so many young players trying to prove themselves also leads to an individualistic style of play.
The direct quotes the OP referenced:
“Pero si Sacramento puede mejorar, no tengo dramas en seguir. El tema es que acá están más preocupados por no perder tanto dinero que en el equipo que se viene.”
“Me dijeron que sí, que quieren mejorar el equipo y que yo contagie mi esfuerzo, pero por ahora priorizan más lo ecónomico que lo deportivo.”
The told me that they wish to improve the team…but they are prioritizing economics over the game.
by sactown on Mar 25, 2009 7:19 AM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
not exactly
“Una banda” means that a team plays without order, like a street team. The “bandas” are teams who plays without intensity and effort whose players only play to score a lot of points

It’s hard not to agree with his statements concerning the team chemistry; it hasn’t been there all year. With that said, I don’t really see it getting any worse. I just hope these players realize that teams around the league don’t respect them right now.

And I agree with his assessment; although I do not think he is being completely fair, e.g. yes the front office is trying to save money but common Big Nuts, look around, the franchise, the city, the state, the country is teetering on financial meltdown. I bet you’re not investing your whole salary in California munies right now, are you? Not really news though
Its obvious the team isn’t much of a team right now.
As far as saving money, well, thats a pretty new phenomenon based on the economy, the attendance and the fact they were paying out $70mil for that team.
Its got to be frustrating to go from a decent team to one that looks years away.

Besides,
How often is it that a player loves the top 3 teams in the draft? I think Derricsk Rose and LBJ are probably the only 2 players in the past 10 years that were happy about where they were going. Teams are top 3 draft teams because they’re not very good. Waiting another year wouldn’t make it that much better.

Didn’t we already go over this?
He doesn’t actually make much money (80k in Euros which I would be ecstatic with, but not much for pro-bball player). And he’s fluent in English.
Pookey wrote this in response to one of your other propaganda pieces:
…or that he’s fluent in English and Spanish already,
and similarly pookey wrote in a different thread that you participated in…
Anybody wanna guess the over/under that Rubio will be very popular for all of Sacramento?
Considering A) he’s Spanish, and speaks it fluently, but B) he’s also fluent in English as well (or speaks it well enough to be considered communicated by DX). These are called marketing opportunities he might not have in Spain.
Your perpetual bullshit is annoying and a disservice to the rest of the readers here. Just like your comment regarding how only a few people wouldn’t want Griffin, you again fluff your own crap to emphasize your preference.
For what? Does it make you feel better? Will influencing our opinions somehow encourage Petrie to draft a big man? Will Blake Griffin run back into your arms when he moves to Sacramento?

It’s ‘cause you spill the same bullshit every time. Plenty of places to see that Rubio speaks english, DX, the Interview with him that was posted on here, in addition to Pookey’s words.
At the absolute worst… you call that information a push… but no, you go and say explicitly that he doesn’t speak the language. Considering you are already aware of the previous information, that was a completely made up lie. You my friend, ARE FULL OF SHIT.

My first thought was
How the hell does Nocioni really have a feel for what’s going on in the franchise? One, he hasn’t been with the team very long and two, he’s hardly played due to injuries since he got here.
I’m generally leery of anyone who can walk into a situation and be able to diagnose all of its problems in such a short time.
On the other hand, sometimes it takes an outsider to bring the reality hammer for people that are too close to see the warts of an organization. And if he’s correct, I guess you can strike the idea of “adding professionalism” from Kenny Natt’s accomplishments this season.

I totally followed
your initial line of thinking noted in your first paragraph. Once I thought about, though, I realized that what he suggested was actually a pretty fair assessment of this team and its current management strategy.
Kenny Natt has no accomplishments – unless you want to include his stunning inability to understand player rotations and who should be on the floor in given situations.

It depends on the person doing the talking. If this was a Bonzi Wells, a Dennis Rodman or a Stephon Marbury type, you’d laugh it off. Nocioni…not so much.

Good summation
Nocioni was a mouthy, whiny, malcontent in Chicago; looks like its only taken him a little over a month to start up here.
I agree sometimes an outsiders perspective is good, I’m just not buying it from Nocioni. There’s no question this organization has some chemistry issues, I just don’t see why Nocioni needs to be complaining about it in the press, when he’s barely been here.

I disagree. I've been following the guy for about 7 years now and...
…I seriously doubt anyone has ever thought he was a mouthy malcontent. Would John Paxson have said what he did when Noce was traded if Noce was a mouthy malcontent? Would Deng have almost burst into tears for a teammate who is a locker room cancer?
This is a guy who went on record saying Deng should be in the starting lineup because he was better than him (Noce) and who said Manu and Luis Scola were the stars of the Argentinian team and he was there to provide a need (rebounding and outside shooting)
Noce can be a bit whiny about foul calls in a game but he has never whined about PT or about starting or coming off the bench.
Of course, you should take my Noce opinions with a grain of salt. I obviously like the guy enough to follow him here.

Everything that I saw out of Chicago was that he whined about calls, period. Other than that, he was thought of as a guy that gave effort and was a pretty good teammate. His contract is longer than I’d like, but that’s about it.

What I do not agree with is the length and depth of the interview.
I think Noce could have stopped a couple of times after making a point instead of going into details. Much of what he said may be valid but some stuff could have been kept between teammates.

Some players have reacted already.
Kings guard Bobby Jackson said he prefers that players voice their frustrations in-house instead of publicly."Everybody knows our ups and our downs, so why go out and talk about it and say, ’That’s how I feel?’ "
I may be a Noce fan but I like BJax’s position on this one.
Doesn’t change the fact that Nocioni’s observations are pretty much true, though.

What guy in the NBA doesn't whine about calls?
It’s part of the game. It’s really ingrained into the culture, actually.

I think u are confusing mouthy and whiney
With intense, loyal, hard working and most of all wanting and having a strong desire to compete.
Noc is pissed cuz yr team has no identity and gave up Drew to save even more cash.
Noc is as hard working a player as any in the league, he wants to compete and wont stand 4 complete individualism…he’ll be good 4 you guys if u keep him so long as he sits down in games where he’s too hurt 2 help…

Rec'd. Oh yeah, just a warning.
Noce gets really mad if you sit him down with less than a broken leg. Just saying.

Yeah I know
And I’m a Noc fan, but he did hurt us in the playoffs 2 years ago when he wouldn’t sit with that plantair facitis….
But gotta love his passion too as when healthy he helped more than he hurt (shows up more on other teams play really than his own, but Noc is a guy who could get 20 on a given night and come from nowhere to be very effective)….
Miss Nocioni, even though I’d take Salmons in a second over him again (Chicago Fan)…

Salmons over Nocioni?
Just wait until Salmon’s shows you his alter egos Pouty “I can’t score if I don’t start” Chin Boobs or Thump Thump “I can bring our team offense to grinding halt” Thumper.

They'll
probably be ok with Salmons’ 17.9 PER since he got there over the 12 or so Nocioni was giving them.

As Brooklyn mentions
Salmons has been starting lately because of Deng’s injury
- wait ’till they try to move him back to the bench.

If they don't re-sign Gordon,
Salmons could be their starting two-guard next year,

Salmons-Hinrich
would be a nice guard combo. I’ll take it over Gordon-Salmons, no matter what Bulls fans say (not a call out in any way).

They’re not moving him back to the bench, Salmons is arguably their 2nd best player. When Deng comes back, I would guess Gordon goes back to the bench.

Thank's majoyenrac
Told ya I’m here, and I rec’d ya.
Anywho I think that Nocioni’s outburst was just of malcontent so far.. injured in Sacramento, worst record in the league, cutting Drew Gooden, I wasn’t surprised he did it. What I was surprised of, like Bobby Jackson was, that he didn’t voice it in-house but to the press. It’s not like we don’t know this stuff.

When you get unwillingly traded,
to the worst team in the League which also happens to be in the lowest point of its rebuilding phase and you are 30 years old… it’s “normal” to share your negative feelings with people from your own country. I’m 100% sure he wouldn’t talk like that if he was being interviewed in the USA.
But I guess Nocioni forgot that whatever you say and whoever you say it to, it will be known everywhere on the globe in a matter of hours.
Nocioni lost a bit of his Professionalism rating in the next NBA 2K video game.

Who cares...
Nocioni is at best a role player. He may work and play hard, but in the end this guy can only really give you 20 solid minutes. Of course your team sucks, quit complaining. What did you expect, the Kings to all of a sudden be competitive with the arrival of more bench warmers at the trade deadline? Management has clearly shown which direction they were moving in, in February, and that is for the best draft pick and the intention to have a lot of cap space to make some moves. Until they have the ability to bring in some REAL talent, Nocioni needs to stay hush and keep his thoughts to himself, especially when he just arrived, and could not get traded for at least 5 more months. Not a smooth move, but then again, they aren’t paying these guys for their intelligence.

Just weird. Your handle is Sac King but you refer to the Kings as "you team"?
But I really shouldn’t be reacting. After all, my handle is NoceOne. You can have one guess why I’m here.

I think he was addressing that to Nocioni directly?
