It appears soooo my sad friends and fellow fans. I personally never ever have rooted for a loss (that day may still come in the next week) but we are where we are .
I apologize to firstly my wife, who I convinced it was worth buying tickets (15 games) yet again this year as I was SURE that there would be some improvement over last season. Second, to ElronToro for building on his joke :).
There is a silver lining, as many here have openly rooted for, what is likely to be the #1 or #2 pick in the draft. More inside help - or more outside help, depending on if a certain Spanish Fly gets out of his buyout and which side of the fence you're sitting at the moment.
Seriously, this season as made ME feel less manly (or that could just be yet another year of marraige).
In any case friends, whether you sit on my side of the fence or not, I salute each and every one of you who have stuck with this team and contributed to the ongoing debate and hope for the future.
I salute you for your support in a dismal season
I salute you for your opinions - and whether I agreed or not, I thought they were mostly from a positive place, making/wanting the team to be Better. I especially salute those that have often disagreed with me - I'm one of those who has strong opinions and wants (really!) a powerful, convincing argument and debate to change my mind. Some of you have succeeded and I thank you.
We have some tough days ahead. An excellent draft pick will finally be within our reach - and there is real, honest disagreement on which direction the Team should follow. Most know my feelings on the subject, but before we move ahead i do want to say that though I disagree with some of you - I am not blind to the logic of your argument. I'm just not sure that logic is on anyone's side in this debate. Evaluating a young player vs team needs is about more than stats, its about . . . (?) many things.
We're going to fight, argue, and some will complain no matter what the choice is. This is not an ordinary year and these are not ordinary circumstances - our team is in crisis.
I don't ask for consensus, only enough courtesy that whichever side GP decides to take - we all can still get behind the decision and move on without letting our opinions - which unfortunately cannot affect the outcome anyway - stop us all from joining together again next season
For OUR team.
Kings Yesterday, Kings Today - and Kings Tomorrow!
