Excellent news (said as also a Mavs fan and since Dirk came there following the German national team pretty closely)
They could really use him, since their best small forward Ademola Okulaja (played with Vince Carter and Antawn Jamison for North Carolina) has developed cancer in his spine. Though it’s not sure Dirk pauses this year for the first time in his career in the EuroBasket, which likely would have a big influence on Kaman and Greene being willing to play.
By the way, you don’t get citizenship in Germany by being born there, but instead by ancestry. Otherwise guys like Carlos Boozer and Devean George would be German too, which they are not.
If everything goes wrong, we can take comfort in the Rockets not having a single draft pick in 2009

Outta curiosity
Why does a Norwegian follow the German team? (Other than being a Dirk and pseudo Mavs fan.)

Should be good for his development
Playing for coaches who know how to teach basketball & he might even see some real court time.
