Around SBN: FSU To Big 12 'Inevitable,' According To Report

I was bored, so I decided to take a jaunt over to Draft Express, and I elated to see Ricky Rubio as no. 2 on the 2009 Draft Board, as well as Jrue Holiday at no. 24. DX having Rubio at no. 2 just makes me so much happier as a person; now if Rubio does actually enter the draft there are so many more options for Sacramento.

If Sacramento picks up Griffin we can potentially get a defensive point guard (although a project) in Holiday, or go after a more finished product like Collison. There is even potential to draft Jeff Teague or Eric Maynor, who are at no. 18 and 19 respectively, if they do slide more than they have already. I'm excited.

Thanks

However, the new mock doesn’t have Holiday sliding past Portland at 23. It also has the Kings selecting 3 forwards – Griffin, Patterson and Damion James. I’m not going to revisit Rubio v. Griffin yet here…but I find it unfathomable that Petrie would select two more forwards after having picked Griffin first overall. Especially when, as DX’s mock presents, Patty Mills and Marcus Thornton are available at Pick 31. I understand picking the best player available, but not when they’ll never have a chance to play over Griffin, Thompson and Nocioni.

Also, I have to believe Holiday will return to UCLA if he is not guaranteed to be lottery bound. If he stayed in the draft and were to fall to Sacramento at Houston’s pick I’d be overjoyed.

I think what they're doing so far

is just placing players where they are valued, because I don’t see the Pacers picking up Ty Lawson at 12, nor do I see Jonny Flynn to Detroit.

PG's

Also note that Flynn has surged up to 15th in this newest mock. I also wouldn’t expect Teague to come out if he wasn’t headed to the lottery (he’s only a sophomore), but stranger things have happened.

I'm just dreaming of better days

and how a combo of Blake Griffin and Jeff Teague/Jrue Holiday can be part of that.

Also noticed

that Greg Monroe has been moved to the 2010 mock, as was Evan Turner – and Cole Aldrich is still listed in 2010 when the most recent news I’ve heard has him coming out now…

Monroe looks really raw still

I think I’d be a good idea for him to get stronger in the offseason and stay in college.

Ooooohh

I love me some Tony Park… I mean Patrick Mills. I definitely would be fine with drafting him with the Rox pick.

Yes

Rivals confirms here.

As does the Dallas Morning News today.
