Shock & (H)Awe
Spencer Hawes has a lot of weapons in his arsenal, and Jason Thompson is pretty much instant offense as of late, so why does Kenny Natt insist on keeping them on the bench during the final few minutes of close games? I don't understand why he wants to play small ball, with Nocioni at the 5 or the 4. Keeping JT and Hawes in has lots of advantages, such as Hawes ability to shoot the 3 ball and JT always going for the offensive glass and put backs. What do you all think?

Shutting down Kevin Martin
is the most personally upsetting thing that could happen for me.
Just play Martin, Cisco, Hawes, JT and Greene forty minutes a piece, and I’m happy.
Seriously. It’s not like that could even be considered tanking, because that’s our best friggin lineup (yeah, yeah… exchange Greene for Noc, but if anybody could use an early vacation, it is most def Noc).
C’mon. somebody make it happen.

I personally think that the Kings should rest Martin & Cisco on road games.
If we inflict pain on a prisoner it’s called torture. If we ask a star player to play through pain, it’s called being a man. 75 games is enough already. Martin ends up limping in almost every game. Cisco can’t make it through a game without experiencing pain from his broken hand.
Our fans bought tickets to see our players, so if they can play at home for these last 2 weeks, great. But, I’m not going to be any less proud of them for the effort they put out this year if the sit out a couple of meaningless games.

It's been a tough year for everyone surrounding the Kings
Hopefully it brings the tidings of cheer ( a top draft pick), and improvement on the sideline ranks. This team has had a rotten year from beginning to end, and even though rebuilding is often a very painful process, this has been downright awfully atrocious all year long.

My want for Kevin Martin to play
has something to do with me hoping he’ll put up fifty in each of the last five games. Completely irrational, but it’d be sweet.
Greene, Thompson and Hawes, however, should be playing 48 minutes.

Why not just hope for 53 mins while you're at it?

Maybe so
I’m glad he’s getting the rookie calls this year when it doesn’t really matter. Maybe he can also learn to overcome his propensity for fouling when he’s tired.

or falling on the floor everytime he goes to the rim

But if you look at JT
After he commits the foul, he gives that wide-eyed “who me? I never touched the guy” stare.
What i’d like to see is a guy who goes, “yeah, I smacked him right upside the head. It was a foul. It was meant to be a foul. And if he tries to drive in the paint again, I’m gonna foul him again.”

27 fouls
and forearm pads. Like shinguards in soccer so he can hack-a-dude with impunity.
I think you should be able to borrow fouls
If JT gets called for a foul he can borrow one from any player on the floor.

I like it
Suddenly Martin’s soft defense would become an asset in the form of several unused fouls.
SACTOWN ROYALTY - Try our thick creamy shakes!
That would take hake-a-shaq
to a whole new level. And it opens another school of thought. Wouldn’t you have to drop the number of fouls permitted to each player? Wouldn’t there have to be a cap on how many times you can do this? Could you do it with Tech’s too? That would be loads of fun. Let’s play "How many times can Hawes imitated the “Brad Miller, ‘Someone just jacked my ice cream, ref’ look”, then whine about a call, get t’d and pin it on K-9 (woof!).
Here’s to rational arguement pookey

No Tech's would be charge to the coaching staff
That’s why we have so many assistant coaches, each is allowed 2 tech’s before he is sent to the locker room for a soda pop & a jacuuzi.

I have been extremely puzzled by Hawes not playing at the end of games
Spencer has repeatedly shown that he has the ability to be a clutch player. The most recent example was his play in the 3 OT GSW game but he was clutch in several other games as well. It seems like you’d a guy like to be getting even more experience in clutch situations. But then, I’m not an NBA head coach so what the natt (wtn) do I know?
True dat
Hawes, JT, Greene should be in 97% of the time. So my question is, can we maybe package Noc with our rockets pick to maybe move up to get Lawson?? Because Griffin, JT, Greene, k-mart, Lawson with Cico and Hawes off the bench, talk about strong starting 7 yeah?
I think
Griffin plays PF to Hawes’ Center and Griffin plays PF to JT’s Center – and Hawes and JT play as usual.
Great threesome though

This situation
is really only the only downside to drafting Griffin. How to make the three lottery picks work in a rotation. We all think Griffin is the best player, but I cannot see a good way of handling the situation without ending up with one player wanting off the team immediately. Still more talent is never better than less talent.
Best threesome since...

Not sure which teams might consider Noc & his contract a Plus
Also, taking Noc means the team would have $7M in cap space & be willing to use it for Noc.
It’s going to take a 11-15 pick to get one of the good 2nd tier PG’s. But, the only reasonably price talent that we have to trade is Donte. Which isn’t going to happen, based on his improving defense and potential. Most likely senerio, is we trade our Houston pick with a future 2nd rounder.
While we’re dreaming, our 2010 1st & 2nd rounders without restrictions for Washington’s 2009 1st. We get Griffin & Rubio.

Curious about Lawson
He’s clearly a leader on the floor, but that shot is ugly. Is he a diamond in the rough, or Mateen Cleaves II??
We'll find out eventually
Cuz right now, I don’t think anybody knows that answer.

results, I'm talking about results
42% from 3 makes me not care what it looks like before it hits the net.
If it works – whats the point of talking about it as if it was a negative part of his game?
(and I’m not even lobbying for him)

42% from college three
Doesn’t guarantee NBA shooting success. And the man doesn’t take a ton of threes, so his percentage smells of small sample size.
Look, all I said is that his shot was ugly. I didn’t say it wouldn’t translate to the NBA, just asking the question.
Honestly, I like Lawson, but how about taking a crack at the actual point of my post instead of gnawing at one tiny part you didn’t like?
Fine, you're right
(your question felt a bit negatively loaded somehow)
But all you have to work with – is what you have to work with.
He’s a leader, he’s quick, he can hit the shots, pretty good defender against some of the elite college PGs. The only real worry is ideal height(?) and as section pointed out he measured 3/4 taller than Westbrook last year at pre-draft camps.
We can only measure him against what we have – and he has succeeded very well – you never know for sure but he seems like an NBA PG of some quality to me.
All that said, unless we swing another pick somehow, we won’t get a chance to draft the guy anyway (I don’t believe)

We can possibly get him with the Rockets pick.
Size always rises even when it is not warranted, so I will not be suprised to see us get a talented guard at the Rockets pick.
me either
I just think that he improved his stock too much. Lottery now for sure (I think).
Think Maynor, Collison, Holiday, maybe one of the combo guys will fall.
