We've all been diligently discussing the draft, and the consensus seems to be that this is a Point Guard draft. But we also need depth up front as well, so assuming we don't pick up Griffin or Thabeet in the draft, and Petrie doesn't feel worthy of resigning a demi-god in Ike Diogu, I think we should look at Marcin Gortat, aka The Polish Hammer.

Gortat backs up Dwight Howard. As you might imagine, he doesn't get too much playing time because of that. But he does a lot with the minutes he does get. In around 13 mpg this season, Gortat averaged 4.5 rebounds (1.5 offensive), and .8 blocks. His scoring is minimal at around 4 points a game but most of his points come around the basket, leading to a 56% FG%. In Game 6 of Orlando's series against Philadelphia, Gortat started in the place of Dwight Howard. He scored 11 points, had 15 rebounds, 2, assists, 4 steals, and only 4 fouls in 40 minutes. On the bad side of the spectrum he didn't have any blocks and 3 turnovers.
The man is not a Petrie style big. He cannot shoot. But he could be the defensive, low post rotation big we need for depth. The only thing is he's a restricted Free Agent so the Magic would be able to match any offer we give.
This guy has spent the last season and a half practicing with Dwight Howard and being taught by Patrick Chewing. He could be a great pickup for the Kings.
