Anyone catch PTI Friday?
Dan LeBatard (and we know how much he lives up to the translation of that last name) and Wilbon positively skewered the Kings on Friday, wondering why anyone would ever want to coach the team.
Basically, the implication was that we are so bad that no coach in his right mind would want to come here.
Anyone else hate LeBatard? I have never heard him say anything nice about the city, the team, or the players. He implied that Kevin Martin was the only thing good about the team, and even Kevin isn't that good.
No wonder everyone boos when he is subbing on the show.

He's way better than Kornheiser.
I’ll take LeBatard badmouthing the Kings over Kornheiser professing his undying love for Tom Brady any day.
Is that on ESPN?
I missed it – I prefer sports stations.

Lol at DL himself apologizing at the end of that thread
I wonder when he’ll make an appearance on this one…
With the fourth pick of the draft the kings select...
That was quality
I don’t remember that…and I commented on it.
when will the Kenny Thomas Reign of Terror end?!!??

PTI
pardon the ignorance
Bad mouthing an entire city? He would enjoy the attention that a response would bring but, I say fine, stay away, and let’s just ignore each other, we will both be happier.

So what you're saying...
is that Miami has hurricanes, humidity, and an ignorant gasbag. As if the hurricanes and humidity weren’t enough.
Its really not that big of a deal
everyone talks trash about the team with the worst record in the league, no matter the sport and no matter what happens the next year.
+1
Look at the crap the Lions get ….. it comes with the territory. You’re in last, you’re going to get dumped on.
But it also shows that the media at ESPN doesn’t know crap about the Kings. Any team in the league would want JT, Martin, or Hawes. Anyone. and i don’t know how a guy who can score 25 a game in this league is “isn’t even that good.” Pure ignorance.
Peaches is an idiot.
I know it isn't a big deal...
but this has happened before, even before this worst of all seasons. LeBatard just seems to hate Sactown. I wonder if the twit has even been here?
It just makes it better on the way back up
makes that a better story. A story is what its all about.

There was a time...
…when nobody would’ve wanted to coach in Cleveland. There was a time nobody wanted to coach in Denver. There was a time nobody wanted to coach The Clippers (but that time has not yet passed, and possibly never will).
Never forget: I am a complete idiot
The potential coaches
know better. This is an attractive job because of the city, Geoff Petrie, the “only way to go is up” factor, the high draft pick, and so on. Nobody is listening to The Batard. I am certainly not interested in what he thinks about Sacramento and the Kings. I’m not sure he really has an opinion. I think he just makes noise for effect.
And PTI is entertaining, especially with Wilbon and Kornheiser.
Lower their expectations and rise to met them
I'm probably the odd man out...
but I really like Kornheiser, especially on his radio show. The orange man cracks me up.
piling on is easy
this is a perfect example of lazy journalists behaving lazily. and/or soundbite culture producing another meaningless soundbite. trying to find meaning in ten-second clips on cable “news” is like trying to visit miami without contracting an STD.
see what i did there? i made a blanket statement about an entire city based purely on conjecture, hearsay, and snarkiness. like i said, easy! BAM.
On the other hand
Wilbon has a fond place in my heart based solely upon his strong reactions (and continued opinions) towards the-series-that-we-all-still-think-of-yet-hesitate-to-mention, as my tagline at the bottom shows.
I remember back in 2004 when somebody suggested the refs were favoring the lakers in a series against the rockets, Wilbon said the only time he felt the refs seriously screwed a team over was back in 2002. So he’s okay in my book.
"I have never seen officiating in a game of consequence as bad as that in Game 6...this officiating took away what would have been a Sacramento series victory in Game 6." -Michael Wilbon, Washington Post
