Poll of the Indeterminate Time Period
Eddie Jordan will be meeting with Geoff Petrie and the Maloofs today and Wednesday. Paul Westphal will interview Wednesday. No other interviews have been announced, though others are expected.
The draft board has made us poll heavy, but I need to know your opinion, Sactown Royalty.

Yeah, in the final analysis
Either Jordan or Westphal is a decent choice. No “Wow!” stuff, but solid, competent, “we could do a lot worse” guys. They both should be able to hang in there for what could be a rough couple of years. Either might end up basically setting the table for someone else.

Given the list of available candidates
I’m fine with Jordan.
At this point in time, the Kings cannot afford to hire a “newbie” that may be tested by players and circumstances (Thibodeau, Elston Turner) or a guy that thinks he has to prove something right away (AJ, maybe Westphal). They need a guy that is comfortable in his own skin, stable as opposed to sexy. Eddie Jordan fits that bill. There may be a couple of other guys out there like that (JVG, Fratello), but not many.
Whether or not EJ ever rides in a championship parade here in Sacramento is beside the point right now. He has the skill set to point this young team in the right direction. I won’t be doing back flips if/when he is hired, but I would be happy with the selection considering the current climate and landscape.

I'm "fine" too
but not “happy.” More like underwhelmed but not disappointed. OK, fine, I voted happy. But I’m not happy about it.
Oh hell no
stable as opposed to sexy
As opposed to? You must not be talking about the same Eddie Jordan I am.

Extremely
I will be extremely happy if Jordan is hired. I think it will restore a lot of lost faith from the fan base. It’s definitely a move in the right direction. There is a difference between rebuilding and simply cutting cost. I think the organization could prove to a lot of people that we are in the former with this hire. Let’s get the fire back in Arco.

I voted no
But I’d definitely be happier with the on-court performance in the short run if we got EJ. Would be fun to see the youngs looking like they know what they’re doing.
I'd be happy with Jordan
or that Blatt fellow.
I wonder if Jordan is any better of a coach than he was last time?
As long as it's Petrie's decision
I won’t complain. I’m still having a hard time understanding why Mitchell hasn’t been mentioned…
I’m trying to think of it this way: Jordan>Theus>Avery Johnson>Musselman>Whisenant
Please
Theus> Avery Johnson. That’s got to be the biggest joke I’ve heard in a long, long time. I’m not trying to demean you in anyway but I completely disagree with the Theus>Avery Johnson notion.
You don’t compare a coach who took a flawed team like the Mavs to the NBA Finals, instill toughness in them to Reggie Theus and compare him more unfavorably to Reggie Theus. Not in this lifetime or any other lifetime.
BOOK IT!
Yes
I still prefer Avery Johnson but would be very happy with Jordan as well.
BOOK IT!
I voted yes, but with a caveat
That there have been at least three other candidates interviewed and Petrie decides that Jordan is the best available person possible.
I have nothing against Jordan. I just don’t understand all the EJ euphoria.
Ok, people, let's generate all the good Karma we can until May 19. Then you can go back to your shallow and empty lifestyles.

Mostly I'm happy Avery Johnson isn't being considered
But Eddie Jordan is okay. Not my first choice; not my last choice. We’ll see what happens if he is indeed hired. (Geoff Petrie did sound like he was leaning towards Westphal or Jordan last night on the radio.)

Me
I’d rather be a Kings fan than listen to Avery Johnson for any reason.

Here's my thing
Out of the coaching candidates that are being considered, I like Jordan the best. Is he a slam dunk? Probably not. But you never know.
What worries me most is that I agree with the majority. It’s an odd and creepy feeling for me. I’m going to go rant against Blake Griffin and Ricky Rubio, just so I can feel normal again…
Never forget: I am a complete idiot
Content or satisfied
That’s how I would really feel, but I voted happy anyways. I don’t really know if there’s a candidate out there right now that would make me happy.
Happy but not ecstatic,
ecstatic that it’s not John Whizent.
Personally I think this is a two coach deal. I think Jason Levin is going to be the GM who hires the coach who takes us past the second round of the playoffs.
My expectations for our next coach is that he brings stability to the team and starts the rebuilding process melding our “vets” and developing the kids into a team that plays team basketball, has a recognizable offensive style, gets the team to hustle, scrap, press, trap, take the ball to the hoop and get the ball inside to our young bigs and play hard on both sides of the court.
That’s all I want.

I voted happy
because of all the coaches that seem to be the ones that are getting considered, he’s the best one. It’s just too bad we weren’t able to get a good experiment coach the last time, like a Thibodeau, Budenholzer, or Messina. But I don’t think any of those guys would be seriously considered now, especially after Petrie strongly proclaimed “no more grand experiments”.
I’m just glad that if Jordan is hired Fratello is left out of the equation. I don’t even want him interviewed. Vehemently opposed to Fratello coaching the Kings.
