Didn’t anyone think sending #4 to the draft lottery was a bad idea?

by sactown on May 19, 2009 5:56 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Well considering there wasn’t an opportunity for him to choke under pressure I didn’t have a problem with it. But I guess his aura tainted it.

Un-fucking-believable

And I sure as hell don’t want that dude from Conn. Time for GP to earn his money. Any chance of us moving up for Rubio? Let me rephrase that: Is there a realistic strategy for moving up from #4 to #2? (I’m assuming Rubio goes #2, which I think is accurate.)

Not feasibly, we would possibly have to give up both our first round picks and a player. You can look at it this way though, Memphis drafted Mike Conley in 2007 and aren’t probably looking to draft a guard since he has started to show signs of major potential. Not to mention they are pretty stacked at the guard position anyway. OKC drafted Westbrook last year and might be looking to acquire a big man such as Hasheem Thabeet. This possibly leaves Rubio at 4 (hopefully). That’s pending if one of these two teams don’t decide to trade down. Either way, this is a PG heavy draft and I think the Kings will find a decent player at that position if they don’t opt to try and sign one in free agency.

Portland Blazer fan here

And I feel bad for you guys, but I do have 2 positive things to say:

1) Let the John Wall watch begin, he woulda been #1 if he was allowed in this years class, so getting him as your consolation prize next year won’t be bad.

2) If you guys draft Harden at #4 I think he has a real chance to be the best player in this draft. As a Blazer fan I look at him over and over again and can’t stop thinking of how similar he is to Brandon Roy, you could do far worse than getting Brandon Roy with your #4 pick.

Hope things pick up, good luck next year, and of course: BEAT LA.

by lodisacfan on May 19, 2009 6:37 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Well...

If Harden can even provide 80% of what Martin does . . . is this worth it?

Rubio > Udrih
Harden < Martin

Which is greater?

Rubio/Harden OR Udrih/Martin

by smgmatt on May 19, 2009 6:42 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I think harden is undersized for his position. 6’4? He’s good but unless he trasitions to the 1 idk. I think Tyreke Evans is a better choice here.

by candlestickparklegends on May 19, 2009 6:48 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

To clarify

I’m not advocating anyone specific with the #4 pick at the moment, just looking at all possibilities.

If Harden really was the next Roy, then drafting him and trading Martin for Rubio would be a net gain.

For the record I had conversations about trading Martin even if the Kings got the #1 . . . you should NEVER exclude any options.

The only UNTRADABLE player in the L is King James . . . and even then if the Cavs win the title and he says he won’t return after his contract expires, trading him for long-term pieces might even be feasible.

So again, no untouchables.

by smgmatt on May 19, 2009 6:55 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Brandon Roy played twice as athletic as Harden was in college

I don’t want 12 points a game for a career with the number 4 pick if its a shooting guard. I’m sorry I’m mean, but I’m sure you can understand.

we draft Harden and that frees up the trade of KMart for something better?

I feel that with the way Tyreke Evan improved his game as the year went on he’ll continue to grow and mature as a ballplayer… I’d like to see him continue to grow and prepare himself for the draft….IF (which is a slightly big IF) he does this, I like him over Rubio / Jennings etc as the best PG in the draft-

well...

Outside of the awfulness of getting the #4 pick, there is a bit of upside.

a) OKC will almost certainly take Thabeet with the 3 pick and eliminate that potential option from us.
b) Mike Conley is 21. Although he hasn’t played too well yet, young point guards rarely do. Memphis may elect to wait out on Conley rather than go through the whole process of watching a young PG struggle again. Plus Memphis’ biggest hole is clearly at the 4 spot – if they like Hill 4 would be a good spot to trade down to. Unfortunately, not sure what we trade up with other than our #23 and or #31…doubt they’d want Ike and doubt we’d want to trade Thompson/Hawes/Martin.

But this hurts so bad. It really does.

by coachtheus on May 19, 2009 6:22 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Even if we don’t trade up, we choose from the best of the pack who’s not Griffin/Rubio/Thabeet. There are a LOT of good players out there. Chins up fellas.

There’s a good chance that Jennings/Evans is still on the board, but you’d have to be ok missing out on both if you make this deal.

I think Memphis might be more enamored of Jordan Hill

They might really think he’s worth it at 4, but not at 2. If they can get rid of Marko Jaric, and get Kenny Thomas in the process, Memphis might think that savings is really worth it.

Just one example.

Yes he remotely looks like Chris Bosh. But all his stats are worse than DeJuan Blair’s. Look it up on DraftExpress or so. Pace adjusted 40 minutes is a huge difference, and even in totals. And not just rebounds where Blair is a monster, also efficiency, steals, blocks, …

Who are they looking to dump? Watson? Collison?

by Deleran on May 19, 2009 6:39 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Right now OKC is looking to upgrade their 5 spot. A rotation of Collison/Nenad is bad for them

Especially when both are being paid around 6mil/season respectively. If they shed one of those guys’ contracts, they’ll have approx $38 to $40 mil of salary next season (after picks), making them competitors for the 2010 FA market.

I don't agree Cloudy

I think they would love Thabeet or Harden at the 3rd overall pick, or maybe even trade down a spot with Sacramento to get either.

So, yeah, they might trade down. If not, they have a chance at picking Thabeet with the #2.

I always did in fact if the cards fell right

The Kings always had to have a worst case scenario, and frankly, I could have seen worse scenarios where the teams in front of them were absolutely going to take Griffin/Rubio/Jennings. That isn’t likely now.

That means, despite the Kings not finishing in the top 2 picks, they are still very much in this draft to get a player they feel can alter the course of the franchise. I believe. You all should too.

Much much worse scenarios

I could easily see the Kings getting Rubio for swapping Kenny Thomas for Marko Jaric. There are worse things than that aren’t there?

Basically this is probably the best situation we could have hoped for at number 4. Theres still a sliver of hope for Rubio if Memphis decides to take a chance on Thabeet or Hill. OKC is gonna want Thabeet. I don’t see OKC taking Rubio but they could and move Westbrook to the 2 guard.

Bottom line is....

We really need to explore trading #4 and #23 or #31 to move to the 2 spot, or the 3 spot (if Thabeet goes at 2, which is what Chad Ford says will now happen) to take Rubio. Unless we move up, or trade out for a young star that significantly improves our team, the Kings are DONE in sacramento. With the worst attendance in the league this year, we HAVE to get people energized about the team….and drafting brandon jennings or tyreke evans so they can play 20 minutes a game as a backup (which is what jennings will be at least for a few years—he can’t start in Europe, why would he start in the NBA?) will not do it.

We need Rubio even more now…

Was talking about our #23

And my point about jennings, which I should have just said I suppose, is that I’m not sold on him, and think he’ll take 2-3 years to get to a point where he’s playing at the level of an NBA starter…

But the larger point is that I don’t think keeping our pick and taking a guy like jennings will do enough to excite our fanbase to come to games, which could lead us down the road of the “formerly” sacramento kings…..

Heartbreak...

Don’t really have any positive words… Just can’t really remember the last time I felt PRIDE as a Kings fan. MAYBE when we ALMOST did something special??? All being a Kings fan seems to be, is hoping for things that never happen, and when they do, some tragedy happens to take it away… Draft a stud, and he commits suicide. Trade for a stud, and he blows out a knee. Load the team up ten deep (bench Mob), and they can’t make 4th quarter freethrows… I could go on all night considering I’ve been riding with the Kings from the day they came to Sac… But I think I’ve made my point. I don’t want to hear the nonsense about how this is “the best possible outcome” and all the BS above… The best outcome would have been Blake Griffin in a Kings jersey! I’m tired of always being FORCED to settle as a Kings fan. I’m tired of finding the silver lining in things… I think it’s a fair question to ask the SACRAMENTO KINGS ORGANIZATION: WHEN will you finally do something to make use ANYTHING other than a joke? When will the aggressive move come? The one like Boston getting 2 future Hall-of-Fame players… The one like LA getting Gasol??? When will anything of relevance happen where the KINGS come out looking like the winner? I’m tired of my team being the NBA’s Epic Fail…

that was a pretty good write up

No disrespect intended

But how long have you been a Kings fan? I mean, were you a fan for the eight stright years of playoffs, or are you more recent? I don’t mean this as a smart ass, and this team indeed sucks right now. And there is no doubt that being a Kings fan isn’t easy. But to paint it as the Kings always being a joke (ignoring the playoff run), or the organization never doing anything agressive (ignoring the Webber/Richmond trade, the drafting of Peja and Jason Williams, the Artest deal), I just think that is highly inaccurate.

Again, I share your frustration and I understand where you’re coming from. But as someone that had his ears ringing days after attending playoff games, I must respectfully disagree.

SACTOWN ROYALTY - Try our thick creamy shakes!

by section214 on May 19, 2009 8:49 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

To "section214"...

Not one person on this site has seniority over me in Kings land… I’ve been a fan from day one as I did say in my post… Not sure how you missed it considering it was the first thing I said… Again, when we made those playoff runs we ended up as a joke. Maybe you have never lived outside of Sacramento and don’t know how the rest of the country saw the Kings for never being able to beat the Lakers or how all I ever heard was how the Kings are the NBA’s best choke artists, soft, flop artists, etc… But imagine being in a city (Houston, Phoenix, and Dallas were places I was for a while for school/work before coming back home) that has not one but 3-6 pro sports franchises and STILL all you hear about is how garbage the Kings are… And that’s when you are at the PEAK of ANY success you have EVER had. So you can “respectfully disagree” all you want… Won’t change the fact that Artest wasn’t an aggressive move. Just a stupid one… Also, if were being honest, the Webber trade was a stupid one as well… Did it work out? Sure, and I’m glad as Webber is one of my all time fav Kings… But when someone says publicly that they don’t want to play for you and you trade a HOF like Mitch for him… Not to bright… Could have EASILY backfired and instead of being happy about 8 years of playoff failure (and make no mistake, NEVER winning you’re conference in almost 30 years is pure failure) we would be sitting here without even those memories. Also, you go ahead and be happy with Division Titles hanging in our rafters, and not having even ONE All-Star in something like 5 years… I’ve paid for my tickets and bought the jerseys and shoveled all the shit that everyone dumps on me as a Kings fan since they got to Sac and done it with a smile because I’m a Sac-King til’ the day I die! And to me, that earns me the right to ask these questions. As someone who STILL defends Geoff Petrie (because he doesn’t shoot free-throws or decide how much effort to put in on D) I think it’s fair to ask him when he will get me someone who’s Jersey I could actually wear and not feel like a complete douche… Trust that I have lost my voice as much as the best of em’ and will continue to do so… But I KNOW I’m right on this and I’m getting tired of rocking Richmond, Webb, Webber, and Bibby jerseys because I don’t even know who will be here next year… No more excuses, get me a real balla…

by tlfairgo on May 20, 2009 9:43 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

WTF?

Mitch went into the Hall of Fame? Did I miss that?

Anyone who claims that the Webber-Richmond trade was a failure is a complete dumbass…PERIOD. If that trade hadn’t been made, you wouldn’t even have had division titles hanging in the rafters.

Honestly, you sound like anything but a legit Kings fan.

But I KNOW I’m right on this

Does someone need to boost their reading comprehension skills???

First, show where I said the Webber trade was a failure… Please since you’re so smart, and I’m what did you say? “A complete dumbass”??? So now that I re-read my post and still couldn’t find that part, maybe I should repeat myself for all the slow kids in class… Namely YOU. I said it was a STUPID trade and even gave the reason why, so try reading it again douche…

Now as far as Mitch in the Hall? Hasn’t happened YET… But I don’t see him not getting in… If Reggie Miller gets in than Mitch gets in… Check the stats oh wise all knowing super Kings fan and tell me I’m wrong… But After re-reading my post I still would word it differently now that I’m not typing a mile a minute in pure draft rage. But please don’t tell me you think Mitch doesn’t belong in the Hall and then have the audacity question my fanhood at the same time…

So when you’re done re-reading my post and actually get what I really said and not what you made up, THEN tell me where I’m wrong and make a case while you’re at it instead of childish name calling this time around…

Fair enough, you didn’t indicate that it was a failure, but you are certainly implying that it was a dumb move. Or am I misunderstanding your neanderthal-like cave scratchings?

By the way, it would take someone who is “not too bright” to type the words “not to bright”. I’m surprised you didn’t go with “not two bright”.

As for Mitch Richmond,

Mitch Richmond does not belong in the Hall of Fame.
Mitch Richmond does not belong in the Hall of Fame.
Mitch Richmond does not belong in the Hall of Fame.
Mitch Richmond does not belong in the Hall of Fame.
Mitch Richmond does not belong in the Hall of Fame.

Clear enough for you? Reggie Miller doesn’t belong there either, in my opinion. I love Mitch as much as the next Kings fan, but I’m a realist as well. Funny that there’s never really been a groundswell of support at this site or any other Kings site I’ve seen for a Mitch Richmond HOF push.

I hate to leave without saying something nice so – great work on the paragraphs this time, Sparky.

Really????

You’re BEST argument was that a post (that I didn’t bother to proof read or spell check) was missing an O on the word “too”? OK, I guess you got me good there… WOW! At this point I know you’re not a real Kings fan. If you were you, would have better smack and much better knowledge… I came to this site because I was told it’s a good spot to get with legit Kings fans… How any Kings fan can disagree with Michael Jordan along with most other NBA people is beyond me. Especially if they actually followed the Kings back then and watched Mitch play. No way you were at those games and believe the nonsense you just said. Jordan came out in 2001 (when Mitch retired) and said very clearly that Mitch Richmond was THE best match up of his career at SG. He went on to say that it was the game he looked forward TWO (just for you) most. For the simple reason that Mitch worked him as hard as he worked him and the 1-on-1 was just plain fun. Maybe I’m just taking crazy pills here but when the GREATEST OF ALL TIME talks about a guy who has career numbers like that it means something. Also, every “expert” I hear talk about Mitch or any of the other no championship perennial all-stars, say the ONLY thing that could hold him out is that he was in a small market before the ticket and all that so he wasn’t the most known player… Well, until he won an All-Star MVP… So no Miller either huh? OK, is Chris Mullen a HOF guy? How about Vince Carter? How about Ray Allen? Because they’re all in the same boat… Well, Allen was blessed with Paul Pierce and KG on his team so he got his ring…

Oh, and PS- Anytime you trade for a player who PUBLICLY STATES they don’t want to play for you??? Pretty stupid move… Worked out and I am MORE than happy it did. But if Webber had stuck to his guns the run would have never happened…

by tlfairgo on May 20, 2009 2:15 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Allrightythen

Listen, the only reason I brought up your typo, is you did so in the context of questioning the intelligence of the man who made the Webber trade. While I wouldn’t want to go so far as to call it “ironic”, I did find it interesting, as I found interesting your claim that Mitch is a HOF player.

Your penis-waving about being a more legitimate Kings fan than anyone else here – in one of your first posts on the site – is equally interesting. Some might even call it arrogant.

Hang around a while – you’ll probably find out that many of us have been attending games since the first Arco Arena opened. Many of us have even been season ticket holders back to that time. And not that I should have to establish my own credibility as a Kings fan, but I was lucky enough to get to know many of the original Kings – LaSalle Thompson, Larry Drew, Reggie Theus and Mike Woodson primarily – since many of them were my neighbors when the team moved here from Kansas City. I’ve been buying tickets, jerseys and merchandise ever since.

So you may have to accept that you’re not the only rabid Kings fans in these parts.

I believe what I said was: “Not one person on this site has seniority over me in Kings land… Ive been a fan from day one as I did say in my post…” (don’t know how to quote it like you’re doing yet) And that was only in response to someone asking if I had just become a Kings fan. I was there when our owner went up into the rafters (during a game) to patch a leak in the roof that was dripping on the floor… I remember wearing my Spud Webb jersey EVERY day until it exploded because he dunked two balls at once in the dunk contest as a King… Thought it was the coolest thing ever at the time… Is that old school enough for you? I’ll be around this site for a while because outside of you, everything else has been dialed in. LOVIN’ the site. I still think you smoked a big bowl of crack if you think Richmond, Miller or any of the others I named off aren’t HOF-worthy, LOL! I’m still waiting to hear WHY he won’t get in or more accurately why YOU don’t think he SHOULD get in. Plus, why did you argue that in the first place? Do you correct people when they say “Hall-of-Famer Carl Malone”??? (or whatever name you prefer) He’s not in… YET…

by tlfairgo on May 20, 2009 2:52 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Calm down, Sparky

Your mention of the HOF in conjunction with Richmond’s name appeared to be an attempt to bolster your argument that the C-Webb trade was stupid. That’s why I mentioned it.

Tell you what, maybe we can come to a meeting somewhere in the middle. Perhaps we could use the term “risky” in conjunction with the C-Webb/Richmond trade. There is a certain element of risk in any trade, but Petrie saw that C-Webb was a superior NBA talent whose trade value was diminished by the perception that he was a difficult guy.

Honestly, at the time I thought it was a great trade, even after C-Webb pissed and moaned about having to come to Sacramento. Richmond was not taking the Kings anywhere at that point, and to get a guy as talented as C-Webb for an aging star (no, not superstar) was a no-brainer.

By the way, it is Karl Malone – and yes, he is a clear Hall of Famer. He will be in the Hall his first year of eligibility. Mitch is already eligible, but is not in. Slight difference.

Question: What kind of bear is best?

Back at you...

First, you need to stop calling me names like sparky… To this point you have made all of ONE good point and that was about Karl Malone’s name… And again, nobody cares… Calling me names isn’t going to convince me that I’m wrong. I also thought I MADE IT CRYSTAL CLEAR WHEN I WROTE “or whatever name you prefer” that I was not comparing the 2 players… I’ll try to make my posts longer so I can explain every little thing to you as it seems the only thing that works is you’re spell check… Stop nitpicking if you have no argument and just leave it be… Nitpicking isn’t going to win you an argument. It just makes you look like a moron who tried to argue and then had to find another subject because he couldn’t make his case. Also, rewording a take I already put out there isn’t making a new take… It’s just saying I was right from the beginning and because you were too busy trying to find someone to rag on you cried about my post. I wouldn’t have an issue meeting you half way but first you tell me you have attended games from the time the Kings came to Sac… Then say Mitch isn’t HOF-worthy… Then I ask about 4 or 5 other players and you never answer… Please stop talking in circles and come legit or admit you were wrong. Creating arguments that have nothing to do with the subject is plain garbage…

The bottom line is that Mitch Richmond SHOULD be in the HOF, PERIOD. If you REALLY went to all those games you would know that and would never say something so ridiculous. Did you never get to see him go head to head with Jordan? Because I loved every second. Clearly you missed some of the things the guy used to be able to do in his sleep. Whatever, you have no clue what you’re talking about anyway… What will you claim I said next? We’re all waiting…

by tlfairgo on May 20, 2009 3:51 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Fine, I have no clue what I’m talking about. I’ll just go ahead and agree with you – the C-Webb/Richmond trade was stupid and Mitch is a hall-of-famer. And the Artest trade was stupid as well, because we needed a 15.6 PER guy who could pound the ball, kill the 24 second shot clock and hoist an ill-advised three pointer.

You’re a regular Red Auerbach.

I eagerly await Mitch’s induction ceremony.

So anyways...

You really don’t agree that trading for a player who goes through the media saying they don’t like you’re city and don’t want to play for you’re team is stupid? Did I not say it worked out and that Webber was one of my fav’s?? So I guess you would marry a woman who said she doesn’t love you and doesn’t want to sleep with you because she’s hot then right??? Brilliant!

Hi tlfairgo

Sorry to get in the middle of your guys’ argument but I think I can add a couple things, not necessarily on the topic, but on why you guys maybe disagreeing and pretty much attacking each other. Please don’t take this in a wrong way, not trying to attack or anything, just some suggestions.

It may help if you could start using more paragraphs, clear sentences and less ellipses. As I was reading your stuff, it was hard to make sense out of it because you have a lot of run on sentences and it’s hard to get your point. This is not grammar class, I know, but it would help everyone underastand your arguments better. You are saying that Otis is putting words in your mouth a lot and this may be partly because of your writing style. It’s tough to see what you are saying if there are no dots, or comas. Again, not an attack, just a suggestion.

One thing that a lot of people here hate too, is when new people join theis blog and fron the get-go start acting like they know it all and they’ve been through everything with this team. That seems to be the cas ewith you, as you are an older fan and have followed this team since the very beginning. That’s more that I can say for myself. At the same time, it came accross snobby, like we should respect you because you’ve been there before. I’m just giving you my impression as a unbiased guy that spends a lot of his time around StR so maybe that could help you understand why you may think Otis is antagonizing you.

Most people here are pretty cool, including Otis, but sometimes we are rubbed the wrong way by new people who come in here thinking they own the place and unfortunately that’s how you may have come off at first.

Please take some of this as constructive criticism and not as a personal attack.

Now you can both go back to arguing about Mitch Richmond ;)

Thanks eduardo

But I shouldn’t have jumped his shit so hard. I think I’m still a little pissed about last night’s events, combined with this horrifying thought that the dominoes are falling in the exact manner necessary to cause this team to relocate. Which I’m sure all of us can agree would be a huge disaster.

I probably should have just taken the day off. :)

So my apologies tlfairgo – you can probably see why TZ has not appointed me as the StR Welcome Wagon. Hang around a while, I think you’ll find that we are a pretty good crew.

And that’s two apologies here in the space of 24 hours on this site – I’d better knock it off or y’all are going to think I’m going soft.

It's cool...

That’s all I wanted to hear. I have enough on my plate dealing with the majority of my friends being fan’s of either LA, Phoenix, Houston, NY, and Dallas… Don’t need to fight Kings fans along with it, LOL! But I’m still gonna’ say Mitch is HOF to the end, LMFAO!!!

We will see!

I hope you’re right about Mitch. :)

Peace.

LOL

Not at all dude. I can see why you were arguing that way. I actually thought he said that was a bad trade too. Anywways.. it’s all done so we are cool. Now let’s go argue how we are going to get Rubio…. hahaha

by eduardo_m7 on May 20, 2009 4:22 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Thanks...

To anyone who thought I was “snobby” I apologize… But I also ask you to go back to the beginning and read my posts.

I’m pretty sure if I attacked you’re “fan-hood” you would tell me how long you’ve been a Kings fan as well…

So while it wasn’t my intention I also felt it necessary as Ive heard you better hold you’re own around these parts and back up what you say…

I haven’t done anything to say I own this place but plan to be a regular now that I know about it…

Also, not writer. So bear with me on the grammar, LOL!

But if you read it, Otis came sideways from the start and I don’t show respect to those who have none. You say he’s a good guy? Remains to be seen. To this point, I don’t see it…

by tlfairgo on May 20, 2009 4:17 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

He is and you'll see it

And I do appreciate the understading. My grammar is pretty bad too but it helps to work on it to get your points accross. Anyway, welcome again and we’ll be arguing soon. That’s what we do around here

by eduardo_m7 on May 20, 2009 4:20 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

A different name to make you happy...

How about Gary Payton? Is he a better name for you to get the point that someone can call a player a “Hall-of-Famer” before they get in? I mean seriously, this site was suggested to me by a friend who said it was all Kings love here. Everyone knows basketball and nobody says stupid ish… But you have been steady hatin’ from jump. I’m glad you’re the only hater Ive encountered on here to this point Otis…

by tlfairgo on May 20, 2009 4:01 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Maybe you should see for yourself

Before you assume anything about this site. We tend to disagree about quite a few things here, but that doesn’t mean we don’t all love our team (well, except for CCR).

By the way, if this first post of yours is exhibiting “Kings love”, I’d hate to see when you are pissed at them.

I don’t want to hear the nonsense about how this is "the best possible outcome" and all the BS above… The best outcome would have been Blake Griffin in a Kings jersey!

Question: What kind of bear is best?

It was supposed to be like that...

That post was not about love. I activated my membership for the sole purpose of venting, lol! I think it would have been a red flag if I hadn’t been so pissed about yesterday don’t you think?

by tlfairgo on May 20, 2009 4:25 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

You're entitled to your opinion

I respectfully disagree. And I apologize that I missed the part about you being a Kings fan since day one. My bad, though paragraphs do help.

I feel bad for you if you have not been able to take any joy from these past several years. I have never been embarrassed to be a Kings fan, not even the two years that I lived in Chicago and proudly wore my baby blue Kings jacket to the Madhouse on Madison.

Am I satisfied with the results from the past several years? No. Have I had my heart broken as a Kings fan? Absolutely. But do I feel that we nothing other than a joke? No way. I’ll leave that for you and Clippers fans.

I agree 100%...

Yesterdays post was pure rage man, LOL! I LOVE the memories from the Adleman years. That’s not what I meant… What I mean is: why is it that the Kings always find a way to make us a joke? Examples would be firing one of the 10 all-time winning-est NBA coaches and then you’re first candidate for the job is a WNBA COACH WITH NO NBA EXPERIENCE? WTF? You just now have some cred/respect in the league so you hop up to be the ONLY team who goes after Artest? WTF? Hire Theus (who I thought was doing OK) and fire him in the middle of the season? WTF??? I guess I’m just tired of doing things different from the teams who consistently have success and thinking it’ll workout. You know? I hope that clears it up and sorry for getting a little testy. MY bad… Last night and first thing this morning were rough, LOL!!!

"How you like them apples?"

Hey there,

DJ’s currently choosing between seven diff. NBA teams to travel to summer league with. (without the whole, "contingent upon tryout" clause) For some reason, possibly loyalty to his hometown, he’s still entertaining the thought of playing along with the Sacramento Kings. I’m just not sure why you guys didn’t notice DJ’s natural, organic & raw talent when you first had the chance. Meanwhile, the ‘next’ team exuberantly notices and also is willing to bend over backwards, tweak & perfect it. It’s very ironic due to the fact that you guys are the ones who are in need of the spark that DJ could provide the most.

……you can always work on your fundamentals or learn a play; UNFORTUNATELY you cannot teach athleticism, heart, desire, LOYALTY, determination, TENACITY, basketball instinct…..or a 42+ inch vertical.

you said NO to the local kid without a second thought; but now the local kid is actually giving you a second thought!
