Fly in the Ointment
OK, I tend to agree with TZ and others that Rubio could fall to us at #4 (my dream scenario at this point); however, there is one scenario that I fear.
That scenario is OKC trading up for Griffin. He's a perfect fit, hometown hero, consensus #1 pick, inside presence, blah, blah, blah, and I could see Presti making a move up the board to get him.
Clips are rumored to really want Rubio, so they can get rid of Baron Davis (Warriors apparently want him back), and he is easier to move than Zach Randolph. This could be a bunch of BS, but I seem to be hearing it a lot from different sources.
If OKC takes Rubio at the #3 spot and packages their other 2009 first rounder (#25 I believe) and next year's unprotected 1st rounder from PHO for Griffin, we could be in trouble. Also, and this is big, it gets Rubio to LA (his first choice) and Blake Griffin to OKC (his first choice). It just makes too much sense. When was the last time an agent, player and GMs agendas all aligned like this.
I know, I know, I spend way to many of my waking hours thinking about draft/trade scenario's, and no one else seems to be all that interested in hypotheticals, but this one really struck me as a possiblity that would completely suck to all of us who still hold out hope that Rubio slips to #4 or that he is even available for a swap at #3.
Our only hope is the Clips manage to screw it up. In Dunleavy we trust.

Could happen
I’m more worried that if it looks like he’ll drop to 4, he’ll decide it’s not enough cash to make sense for him and he’ll pull out of the draft.

If GP decides he really wants Ricky
he needs to trade up.

he has to have the contingency in place in case it just can't happen
workouts, trades, deals, promises, threats, handshakes, and future and cash considerations.

not guaranteed anything.
Ricky could decide to stay in Europe and withdraw his name.

Yeah, he could . . .
but if we moved up to the two spot, there would be no reason to. He’d have a city he is good with and enough money at the two spot. I like the idea of trading up to two unless it costs K-Mart, JT, or Hawes. I’d even live with giving up the 23.

And, someone like
Tyreke Evans still could become the best player from this year’s draft. Slow down.

I’d actually prefer someone like Brandon Jennings over Rubio.

Is the kid going to be Isiah? I don’t think so.

Who is going to be Isiah?
Is there a magic elixir for turning a young PG into Isiah?

It's still in development
I called up and ordered the elixir for Isiah and it works . . . problem is I didn’t mean Isaiah Rider.

Isiah Thomas Beta Version
Still needs work. Currently doesn’t improve your basketball ability, but does cause you to harass women and give away lots of your boss’s money to undeserving individuals.

Does it include signing Jerome James to the MLE?

Or Jared Jeffries?

If it includes trading for Zach Randolph
then I’m in!

I'd hope that Fegan will eventually change his mind about the whole LA thing
seeing as how the only LA team getting him would be the Clippers who have a long history of sucking, badly. He’ll have to play for a terrible coach/GM as well as a cheap owner. He’ll be stuck on a losing team that is way worse than the talent it has suggests
However, Sacramento is a rebuilding team with a GM who has proven he can build a winner. Granted we don’t have a coach, but no coach is better than Mike Dunleavy
