"I don't even know why they (the fans) should question that because we've done that in the past," said a frustrated Maloof. "We've paid the luxury tax in the past when we had a team competing for the championship. That shouldn't even be a question so I'm not gonna answer it. If there's a good free agent available, we'll go out and get the free agent. It's what we've done. Know the future and know the past, and know this: that we're gonna turn this franchise around. Everybody that's counting us out, well, count us out, you can go ahead and count us out, but don't count out the Maloofs, 'cause we're gonna turn this franchise around. Don't bank on us being down forever."

If these guys are guilty of anything,
it’s over spending while pursuing a championship that had since slipped away. And we are all paying for that now. That said, these guys have not been cheap, especially by samll-market-playing-in-a-non-revenue-dump-of-a-building standards.

perhaps, but it is a what have you done for me lately world in sports
and after three seasons on the down swing – for whatever the cause – it is time for smart(er) decisions. They don’t have to be in the form of throwing cash to drown the problem.
As a fan, I want to evidence that there is a strategy in place to successfully rebuild. Start with a coach, that will last more than one season (or 1 1/4 seasons), bring in what talent can be obtained. Nobody wants or expects the team to operate in the red. But, there needs to be evidence that a plan to compete is in place. Two more lotteries await (at least); show evidence that my devotional emotional investment is as well placed as the ownership plan.

I believe they will spent
and they have in the past. I actually think we have fairly smart owners. We are not bad because they don’t spend money, we are bad because we are rebuilding and we have to hit the bottom before getting back up. I think they are making smart business decisions and building from he grown up again. Once we are good again, they’ll spend.. we gotta get back to a decent level first

Yep
Ball movement ... is like jogging for most people: They do it occasionally, and it makes them happy. Then they go back to not doing it. - Henry Abbott
