I think Sam was reporting a rumor

Tweeting a rumor
for that matter, and that’s even flimsier.
Still, we all know how the perceived value of some players can start to jet up the charts as the draft approaches, and DeRozan does seem like a player potentially capable of rising that high.

Yes DeRozan Can
I keep hearing Kobe comparisons with off the charts athleticism and grace. I’d never wanted to associated the K word with another player but if it gets the guy we want than I will add to the hype.
2 Trojans at #3 back-to-back years?
DeRozan is certainly skilled enough to go that high, but Harden is the safer choice. DeRozan is the highest risk/highest reward prospect in the draft in my opinion.

I think this report...
…is very reasonable. I can see Presti taking a risk on DeRozan. He can afford to with Westbrook, Durant, and Green all under 25 and already rising stars in the league. If he hits a HOMERUN in production, fit, style and potential…then he just put the THunder as the TOP YOUNG team in the entire league. Ahead of Portland IMO. If not, he’s still got a great young core and DeRozan IMO at WORST become DeShawn Stevenson who’s a solid contributor.
Its a weekday

This really scares me
Am I the only one that sees what could happen if OKC really likes DeRozan and Memphis takes Rubio?

DeRozan - the Flavor of the Weak
this week. Desperation has us and the other teams pinning our hopes on some new dressed up unproven as the guy you don’t want to pass on.
Do any of the draft sites do a stock market like ticker of who is up and down?
Actually this is how the draft works. Keep in mind almost everyone to this point has been getting their info from Chad Ford, who often changes his info weekly to keep his column fresh and often puts in his own favorite pick when he has no info to go on. Mock Drafts 1.0 and 2.0 have been mostly Chad Ford in his basement with little actual feedback. To answer your other question, Ford provides drop and rise arrows next to his picks to indicate the stock market winds on that player . . . at least he’s done so in previous years.
Amick’s getting his info based on hanging out with the leagues GM’s at Chicago. For all we know every team has been extremely high on DeRozan.
Anyways, both Memphis and OKC have young point guards. Adding Rubio not only will make waves but oddly fitting pieces for those teams. On top that, Rubio’s already publicly threatened to return to Spain if drafted by either of those teams. It’s not madness to suggest that Thabeet, DeRozan and Hardin get drafted in the #2 and #3 spots.
I get my info cuz I'm psychic
I don’t know what you’re talking about.

I agree that Thabeet, DeRozan, or Harden at #2,#3 or even #4 would not be much of a surprise
It is just that as the weeks pass the hype machine – agents, commercial interests, websites/media and players themselves push the ebb and flow of choices.
The funny thing is, it shouldn’t make a difference but often it does. Paul Pierce miraculously dropped to 10, Corliss Williamson dropped to 13 – it seemed to happen the last week before the draft and manifested on draft day. Shel Williams was “leaked” to be taken #5 and surprisingly, was actually taken there.
The other part of it is whatever promises are done behind the scenes with GMs and agents. Not much is said but I am convinced there is a very large influence there, as in “take my guy with your #23 pick and I will direct my RFA to you at this price”.
James Harden is not working out for teams past #5. Sounds like he has been promised a spot with someone. Gerald Wallace is an example that seemed to be promised a spot as he was a projected a second rounder and was off most radars in general. He turned out, for the most part, a good pick (though through timing and roster, not the best for the Kings, dispersal draft or not)
