Wow, he really likes this guy. I'm not committing to how I'll vote at #4 (or #3 yet for that matter) but food for thought.

Interesting stuff

would like to compare to his thoughts on other players too, but couldn’t find any. Thanks for the link.

You think Bobby Knight could have won a title with Stephen Curry?

Probably not, but well, he did go undefeated once at Indiana without Larry Bird on the team. He’s probably a pretty good coach.

Bird went to Indiana State

a very very small school that had nothing to do with Bobby Knight

No shit sherlock

He also attended Indiana. He couldn’t handle Bloomington and went to Indiana St instead. Don’t revise history lttg. This is a very well known story. Next you’re going to tell me the Boston Celtics didn’t select Bird with the 6th overall pick in 1978.

Even wikipedia knows this.

Interesting analysis

Especially given that Knight has seen a few players come and go in his time. I’m feeling good about getting a PG, even if we get #1 and use it on Griffin.

I hate stupid comments that have nothing to do with what I said

Especially when they contradict the actual truth. It’s ironic that you would compare me to Bobby Knight in this scenario. Because from where I sit, I am not Bobby Knight at all.

That is great form.

If you’ll take a look at the picture, you will see an experienced, quality chair tosser. Slight bend at the waist, good balance through the throw, solid white man’s upperbite, and look at that follow through!

All of you young chair throwers out there should be taking notes.

I loved that show! Chachie ruled!

and Kotter taking down Conrad will never be topped.

And the superteams! with the world series teams squaring off for the right to tug-o-war against the the winner of the superbowl teams. Superstars was great too. Damn, miss those shows.

ok, how sad it is it that I can name

Gabe Kaplan (WB, Kotter – ooops! I mean Mis-tah Kah-ta), Diane Carter (Wonder Woman), Hal Linden (Barney Miller) and the late great Howard Cosell (…speaking of sports).

I think the Kings should draft JoJo White. Damn I am an ancient flatus.

Dead-on about the form

You could photo-shop a bowling ball there, and you’d just wonder what a guy at the alley was so pissed about.

Does Knight's assessment of a player

translate to the modern pro game? It might. I just wonder if praise from Coach Knight means more relative to the college game or someone’s capacity to become a good coach one day. A basketball purist might not prefer the game of a great NBA type.

Its a good point

but high praise nevertheless from a guy who whatever else you think about him, does know basketball.

Curry was playing almost alone on that Davidson team, no other players of any real size or great skills.
(still not commiting to any position on him yet though)

small school guy and GP though, Hmmmm

high praise well deserved

I really like Curry. We’re not well-placed for him, 1-4 too high and 23 too low. But I think he’ll be a Microwave at the very least. That’s high praise from someone who knows nothing at all. So that’s gotta count for something.

If the praise is deserved...

and we’re talking about comments like, ’he’s as good a passer that has ever played college basketball’, then why is 1-4 too high? Because mock drafts don’t place him there? Didn’t we just draft a guy last year way higher than almost every mock draft had him?

The guy can flat out shoot, and if he’s got anywhere near the vision and passing ability that Knight thinks he has, why should guys like Evans, Jennings, Thabeet, etc. be drafted above him?
