Kings Best Case Senario w/o Rubio

Don't bother trading up because he isn't worth trading away any of the few good players we have.

Instead lets trade down to any team below us starting with Washington with the number 5 pick, to the Nets with the 11th pick.  I would say go for the 11th pick and try to get back Vince Carter since they don't want him, then they could get Evans, Harden, or Derozan to go alongside Harris.  Carter is still productive and could play the 3 for the kings until Greene is ready. With the 11th pick we take either Holiday, Jennings, or Flynn.

Kings - 11th pick, Carter

Nets - 4th pick, Nocioni, K9

I think the contracts match up.

If New Jersey would do this

im fine with it even though vince is past his prime it would give us a good starting sf and we could possibly take brandon jennings with the 11th, then our starting line up would be stacked

What if we don't have to trade up to get Rubio?

You still want to do this deal?

Not me. No way.

The draft lottery has reinforced my belief that there are not enough bad words in the English language.

Interesting trade idea Haze.

It does work via trade machine.

Carter is owed a pretty penny but only two years are guaranteed. This team would play very little D but man talk about offense. And I do think that at least one of your point guard options would be available at 11.

He would sell tickets and build excitement.

And I for one would rather pay him 33 million for 2 years instead of Nocioni 21 million over three years + 9 mill for Thomas. I’m not saying lets do it but I am saying it might not be that bad of an idea.

Carter

Blue flu’d his way out of Toronto, the same way that Baron Davis hosed New Orleans.

No character. No thanks.

He looks good to me, plus we aren’t going to build around him. We could trade him in his contract year. He would take a lot of pressure off of Martin so he could play more “D” and we would have a leader on the team.

He doesn't help us considerably now,

and he’ll have no trade value by the time he gets done dogging it around here (ask any Raptor fan about that one).

VC???????

We don’t need VC…. What to help us win 5-10 more games and be gone in a couple years. We need to establish a young core of talent. Take T. Evans and watch he along with Hawes Thompson and Martin develope and find some additional bigs to help up front with D and reb. and see where that goes. Plus…. I doubt VC would be very motivated to come play for a 17 win team at this point in his life.

I completely agree

I like watch VC dunk, but that’s about it! Take T. Evans, Now we have Evans, K$, Greene, JT, Hawes (how old is this starting line up?) And talk about size?

I'd like the idea a lot if you could guarantee a 100% effort from VC

If he played well, he’d be a great asset in the trade market in his contract year. And if there isn’t one guy in particular that Petrie loves above the others, then it is likely that a solid point guard prospect would still be available at 11, so I’d say that would be a net increase in assets….but that’s only if VC plays well enough to maintain value….not very likely.

That's always been Carter's problem

if you can guarantee 100% from him he’s a superstar. But there’s never a guarantee with him. Ever.

Nice Idea

I am actually a fan of Trading down in the draft, but staying in the top 10. I think Jennings could probably be there around 10.
