2009 StR Community Draft Board: Pick #26
Blake Griffin, Ricky Rubio, Brandon Jennings, Tyreke Evans, Hasheem Thabeet, Stephen Curry, Ty Lawson, James Harden, Jrue Holiday, Demar DeRozan, Jonny Flynn, Jordan Hill, Jeff Teague, DeJuan Blair, Earl Clark, Eric Maynor, Terrence Williams, B.J. Mullens, Tyler Hansbrough James Johnson, Patrick Mills, Omri Casspi, Sam Young, Chase Budinger and Gerald Henderson are off the board in the first 25 positions on our board.
Reminder: THIS IS NOT A MOCK DRAFT. This is draft board, a list with the order of prospects you'd like to see the Kings pick. In other words, if we were the Kings front office, when our pick came up, we'd take the top name left on our board. So pick your choice, not who you think Petrie or anyone else would choose in a slot.
Explain your choice in the comments, and lobby for who should be added to the next pick's choices. Poll will remain open until 8 AM PDT on Wednesday.

Who are these guys?
With the 4th pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, the Sacramento Kings select Rickeke Flynenningday, point guard from Europe, Memphis, Syracuse and Parts Unknown.

Voted for Beaubois
Although Collison is going to be solid. Both of them have 6th man of the year potential.
Father of the "Natt this!" movement.
Guys that need to be added to the poll
DaJuan Summers, Toney Douglas, Marcus Thornton, Jermaine Taylor, Victor Claver, Patrick Beverley etc.
Austin Daye
Seems to be a good value pick this far down. Maybe the warriors should take him and make an army of super-lanky skeleton men (Wright, Randolph, Biedrins).
I would have voted Derrick Brown here (hint!),
But I opted for Wayne Ellington instead.
SACTOWN ROYALTY - Try our thick creamy shakes!
Daye, no question

Bad fan
Am I a bad fan? I loved watching the Kings when they first came to town no matter how they played. Then they started to have pretty good seasons and the game were really fun. After losing so many games I have just lost interest. I am a bad fan.
Anyway back to the topic. I think Collison is a great PG. He is fast and fun to watch.

Yep.
Bad, bad fan.
So now’s your chance to be a good fan. Come back to fandom this year, because we still aren’t making the playoffs.

Danny Green
Why?
Per 40 Minutes:
19 pts, 7 boards, 4 assists, 2.6 steals, 2 blocks, 47% FG, 42% 3-pt. Range to 25’.
6’7", 225 lbs. Clutch shooter. Decent defender. Would push Donté Greene.

Austin Daye per 40 minutes:
19.3 PTS
10.3 REB
1.7 AST
3.2 BLK
1.1 STL
47.7% FG
42.9% 3PT
6-11, 200 lbs
I’ll take Daye.

Also
Daye did that as a sophomore; Green was a senior. And Daye has a 7’ 2.75" wingspan.

You might need to adjust that for strength of schedule
With the 4th pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, the Sacramento Kings select Rickeke Flynenningday, point guard from Europe, Memphis, Syracuse, UCLA and Parts Unknown.
Exactly
Gonzaga vs. North Carolina = no contest. Portland University and San Francisco is much different than Duke and Wake Forest.
Also, Daye was a huge focus of the offense. Green was the 3rd or 4th option behind Lawson, Hansbrough and Wayne Ellington. Green is a big time clutch shot maker and can shoot efforlessly from within 25’. He’s a solid 225. I like Daye but he’s a beanpole and unproven. I do admit though that neither player is a sure thing and both can become solid NBA players. I just feel the Kings need a small forward with a high basketball IQ who can shoot the three in clutch moments.

Actually Daye was an afterthought in their offense
Pargo, Heytvlet, and Bouldin were the focus of their offense. Daye got what he could.
Fair enough
I am not dissing Daye. I like him alot. I just prefer Green

A beanpole to be sure
Hell, Joakim Noah was 6’11", 232 lbs. when he came into the league. The stats I see on Daye are 6’11", 192 lbs.
When Noah outweighs you by 40 pounds at the same height, you are damn close to malnourished.

Austin Daye- has oodles of talent, unfortunately he needs to mature - alot
for me he needs more colllege and more seasoning before he is drafted. I know he has some guaruntee he will be a first rounder but he really should have returned to Spokane, IMO. As such, I could not draft him.
Of the choices above – I would rather take a flyer on Meeks – the dude is athletic and knows how to score. At this late stage of the first round you are seeking someone with a skill that keeps them on the team. Dude can shoot and score and better than Ellington or Danny Green (though he is next on my list).
Went Beaubois again
But, I know it won’t matter.

Shouldn't have said it then...
…if you can’t take the green that comes with it.
