It's how my dates generally go

Only the order of the events are reversed.

With the 4th pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, the Sacramento Kings select Rickeke Flynenningday, point guard from Europe, Memphis, Syracuse, UCLA and Parts Unknown.

I hope that

They show him tape of Beno, so he knows he has the starting spot locked up. I would also have the Dancers practicing when he arrives, and Martin in a corner draining jumpers. I would keep Spence away from him.

So he doesn’t scare him away with his politics?

That's great

Thanks for the laugh.

Maybe offer to have Beno guard him in a one on one match. If that doesn’t boost his confidence, nothing will.

My vision

I think TZ was correct that it will be Carl’s Jr., but I think the highlight of the evening will come when Spencer Hawes, JT, and Donté woo him with a karaoke rendition of Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up”.

Basically, anytime I imagine a hypothetical scenario, it ends up like something out of an 80s sitcom.

I think is good that Sac is the first place he visits. I know it is not a great town compared to others in the NBA but we get to set the bar and hopefully leave a lasting impression. Petrie knows his Euros so he will do a great job at selling Sacramento to Rubio’s people

Another Song

The first song up above was a rush job I did at work. On the way home, my iPod provided new inspiration. I present to you, sung to Robert Palmer’s “Bad Case of Loving You”

Bad Case of Loving Rube

(Ricky, Ricky)

Wooah

A hot Sacto night, a swish through the net
We’ve gotta draft our Ricky yet
I need you to soothe my dread
Turn our Kings back to good

Chorus:
Ricky, Ricky give me the news
I’ve got a bad case of lovin’ Rube
No Jrue’s gonna cure my ill
I’ve got a bad case of lovin’ Rube

A pretty face don’t give us wins
You learn that buddy, at season end
I think you’re good, a little bit shy
Ricky, you are our kind of guy

Ricky, Ricky give me the news
I’ve got a bad case of lovin’ Rube
No Jrue’s gonna cure my ill
I’ve got a bad case of lovin’ Rube

Wooah

I know you wanna win, wanna be on top
Tell me Ricky is Sacto your stop

Will you come to town, with the 4th pick
Silence of Fegan on your lip
Shake my fist, knock on wood
I’ve got it bad and I’ve got it good

Ricky, Ricky give me the news
I’ve got a bad case of lovin’ Rube
No Jrue’s gonna cure my ill
I’ve got a bad case of lovin’ Rube

Center Court is basically Chili’s with a basketball theme. I don’t take people from out of town there. (But then I’m a snob.)

Tunel 21 is a possibility, but I wouldn’t say it’s known as a high-end place. Vlade no longer owns it, if I remember correctly.
