Tyreke coming back for a second round...
Amick says that we have a several big name players (Curry, DeRozen, Evans) coming in here in the next few days, including Tyreke again. Interesting.

Not surprising
especially if the rumors about how high the Kings are on Evans are true.

I believe JT got two workouts done here as well last year,
so the Kings weren’t blowing smoke when they said they liked Evans. Its just a matter of how much we like him.

Let me get this straight
He backs down when he might have to face Terrence Williams, who’s a stronger defender. But when he has a chance to go against Curry, generally agreed to be a less-skilled defender, he’s willing?
Call me unimpressed.

If they do scrimmage
I think he’ll be guarded by Toney Douglas, who is also there that day. Douglas is a great defender. Curry is taller, but he is not as good a defender. They could also put Calathes on Evans. Evans on Curry though would reflect what would actually happen in the NBA if Evans were a Kings player, since he’d be a Point Guard.

I still think a KM - Curry backcourt
would be frightening offensively
defensively?

If that was our backcourt
Our defense would have to rely on putting the ball in the hoop more than the other team.

It would be fun to watch anyway
I don’t see that any of the top PGs are very good defensively.
I can’t think of many PGs in the league who are in fact all that great on the D end.
I’m trying to think who the better ones would be . . . . .

My opinions
In the League:
Rondo, CP3, Raja Bell
In the Draft (all potential):
Holiday, Evans, Rubio

Add Jennings to that list too.

With Rondo probably the only
really good defender at the PG. Raja not really a starter, CP3 a rare superstar.
I think that makes my point.

Shooting Guards and Small Forwards
tend to be the best defensive guys.

I agree, So maybe you take Curry and address
D at the SF, PF or Center.

Raja
is also not really a point guard. And by not really I mean not at all. He’s a SG.

Tyreke Evans is Plan B if Rubio gets stolen from us.

I'm not so sure
I think he might be Plan A if reports are to be believed.

Do you believe the reports?
Has GP ever let slip what his draft plans are?
Remember LttG’s discussion, where GP seemed not very interested in Curry? That’s the biggest indicator that GP might really like Curry!

yes, but I reminded GP he was the center of every team's defensive efforts
(and boy can he shoot)
no doubt he talking a third look due to my comments )

He's unpredictable
and does anyone expect Petrie to pass up Rubio if he’s available? So wouldn’t the unexpected thing be to pass up Rubio?

Another interesting note
Calathes is returning, as well. The Kings must be looking at him hard for the later picks.

Great move by the Kings IMO
They get to see more of Evans, now working out with other players, plus ths move puts pressure on Rubio’s people. After the visit that should leave everyone wanting Rubio even more the Kings organization is saying that although we do want Rubio, there are other guys we may take (Evans). Just like Fegan could’ve used the visit to Sac to convince the Kings to trade up, Petrie is throwing one back and saying “we are not breaking the bank for you guys either, we got other options.” I like it…
