Seems like the Grizzlies can't get anyone to workout for them
Grizzles general manager Chris Wallace says that the team won't listen to any outsiders regarding the second pick.
"If we want (Rubio), we're going to take him," Wallace told the Memphis Commercial Appeal. "We wouldn't have taken a 10-hour flight to Spain if we didn't have interest in him."
Wallace sent the same message to Stephen Curry and Jonny Flynn, who both refused workouts in Memphis.

Chris Wallace:
“I don’t even care. You don’t want to come here? Well I don’t care. You’re coming. We’ll pick you, you’ll see. And then you’ll have to come here. So there. PFFFFFFFFFFTTTT!”

In all fairness
The CommercialAppeal paints a less than flattering picture of the team and management. Sound familiar. Sacramento is not alone in that regard.
Did you catch this beauty in the article?
The most accurate reports had Rubio in Sacramento over the past two days. Via Twitter.com, Rubio said Wednesday that he “visit the Arco Arena … facilities are brutal! Medical examination, all OK! Dinner with Paul Westphal, the new coach. Everything’s great!”
What is brutal is that Sacramento, accurately or not has not fared well this last month on the PR circuit. Our new Head Coach is labelled a low price pick, Kurt Rambis turned down the offer because he wanted more $, and now the practice facility is brutal – even though the colloquial translation is “awesome”.
The Kings image is getting flogged by wet noodles. Even though we have all experienced the bashing several times and on several fronts (paging Mr. Barkley) it reaches the intended purpose of being hurtful, however small the degree.

Suck it up
We’ve been this whipping boy for quite some time. I’m not about to take stock in some bs rumors about a LA coach turning us down. The article was written with every intention of giving the LA faithful an extra inch of wiggle room so that they can hold their noses higher.

accurately or not
It’s the media. National media at that.

We had the 'brutal' discussion the other day
Turns out being ‘brutal’ is actually a good thing in Spain. It’s one of those ironic slang phrases like “gnarly” or “sick.” So the phrase “Arco Arena es brutal” would actually be high praise (warranted or not).
