2009 StR Community Draft Board: Pick #28
Blake Griffin, Ricky Rubio, Brandon Jennings, Tyreke Evans, Hasheem Thabeet, Stephen Curry, Ty Lawson, James Harden, Jrue Holiday, Demar DeRozan, Jonny Flynn, Jordan Hill, Jeff Teague, DeJuan Blair, Earl Clark, Eric Maynor, Terrence Williams, B.J. Mullens, Tyler Hansbrough James Johnson, Patrick Mills, Omri Casspi, Sam Young, Chase Budinger, Gerald Henderson, Darren Collison and Austin Daye are off the board in the first 27 positions on our board.
Reminder: THIS IS NOT A MOCK DRAFT. This is draft board, a list with the order of prospects you'd like to see the Kings pick. In other words, if we were the Kings front office, when our pick came up, we'd take the top name left on our board. So pick your choice, not who you think Petrie or anyone else would choose in a slot.
Explain your choice in the comments, and lobby for who should be added to the next pick's choices. Poll will remain open until noon on Saturday.

Calathes again
"Even when I’m old and grey, I won’t be able to play it, but I’ll still love the game." — Michael Jordan
Go Kings!
Not to live in the past
But I’d just like to take a moment to point out that Austin Daye’s No Step Vert, Max Vert, Bench Press, Lane Agility, and 3/4 Court Sprint were all worse than Spencer Hawes’s. And he weighs 50 lbs. less. What is the argument in favor of this kid?
Have an iced tea
and join us at pick #28, furious. It’ll be OK.
I’m trying to figure out the Calathes trip. I really liked him as a potential #31 while he was in the draft. Now that he’s playing in Greece, it seems like a lot of people suddenly think he’s a first-rounder. Me no understandy.
Lower their expectations and rise to met them
I'm ok with Calathes
But I agree with you. This isn’t a team that needs to store a guy overseas for a year. We need help anywhere we can get it, and soon.
Still wouldn’t hate the pick, actually guessed he’d be our pick for the contest, but I honestly don’t know about it.
Never forget: I am a complete idiot
at #23 or #31?
Lower their expectations and rise to met them
I think you've got it wrong left
His value has dropped a lot since his decision to go to Greece. He was supposed to be around our pick at 23. Now he’s late first or early 2nd at worst. I think the Lakers take him, Jerebko, or Beaubois with the 29th pick so that they don’t have to have them on the cap this year by keeping them in Europe a year.
Father of the "Natt this!" movement.
That would make sense
Great choice for a team with a high payroll and not glaring holes at the point.
Never forget: I am a complete idiot
And hundreds of people
are right now driving on the wrong side of the highway! What’s wrong with everyone?!
Lower their expectations and rise to met them
I think Calathes goes
in the neighborhood of #35.
Lower their expectations and rise to met them
Thanks for the advice, left hand
But I don’t think I’m ready to put anything in my stomach yet, even liquids.
But I'm no doctor.
Sorry to hear.
Regarding Daye, I picked him at 26 and again at 27. On the positive side, it seems like you have a skilled and long small forward with potential to fill out and his game really take off. On the other hand, OK, yeah, why do we think that? Wasn’t he maybe the third guy on the Gonzaga squad? What did he do against the best competition (which, by the way, the Zaga did not shy away from)? I don’t know. You may have a point. For a simple example, how can he truly rate higher than even Heytvelt?
Get well.

the Zaga. Funny.
