I think whoever has the best workout tomorrow might just be the Kings pick.
We got two guys who have been here twice, and the guy that perfectly fits the Petrie style pick in Curry.

Almost
I think the best workout tomorrow might be the Kings pick if Rubio is off the board.*

I can understand that
It all boils down to which side of the Rubio camp Petrie is on. Also, I think its a given that if Memphis or OKC take Rubio, we won’t bother to trade up unless its a clean swap of picks, which it won’t be.

But no where near the Minnesota battle royal.
Flynn, Holiday, Lawson, Jennings, Evans, Teague- all together and allegedly they sat in the locker room and discussed where they each thought they would be drafted- oh to be a blind fly on the wall.

Kings know something we don't...a lot of things actually but I also know things they don't so I don't feel so inadequate...
This signals to me that Rubio will not be around at #4, the Kings aren’t moving to #2 and it is now time to legitimize plan B.
Point 1- Either Memphis or OKC are not buying the “I won’t play for you” b.s. floated out there by Dan Fegan.
Point 2- Even if Memphis/OKC are willing to deal their pick, the price is too much for the Kings to pay. An early 20’s draft pick is just not that valuable in this draft and the Kings aren’t giving up next years pick so that leaves a player of value which the Kings have few of and are not willing to part with. If the rumors surrounding Love are true Minnesota is retarded. I also don’t buy into the Lee sign and trade stuff- Lee isn’t going to go somewhere just to help the Knicks out and I don’t buy Memphis as a destination city.
Point 3- The Kings have now either seen or will see Holiday, Evans and Flynn twice for private workouts- not counting Chicago or G.S. group workouts. Plan B is coming into focus.
I will personally be bummed out if Rubio isn’t in a Kings uni next season but such is the life of a long time Kings fan. Come on Sam- Twitter us some good news regarding RUBIOOOO!

G beat you to the punch
but its still great news. Only way I see it getting better is if Rubio is coming back, but that is 99% not going to happen.

Not for this workout but I think he will be back later this week.
He can’t afford to drop past the Kings in case #2 or #3 don’t grab him.

With all this talk about what we'll do recently..
I still wouldn’t be surprised Thursday if Rubio is still on the board @ #4 the Kings take less than a minute to make their pick. I kinda think all these workouts are just to strengthen our poker face even more

It could be that.

If Rubio is gone before #4...
The Kings need to trade back at least to #6 if not a little further and then get their guy Flynn, who appears to be the pick. Flynn at #4 isn’t great value IMO, but a few picks later he is great value.

Hell, we could make an event out of it and charge tickets. We might even be able to raise enough money to pay Rubio’s buyout

I love all of these Battle of PG showcases
I haven’t been this excited for a draft in a long time. I think it’s telling that Brandon Jennings won’t be coming back for a second workout. He’s basically off our board now, right?
Also, I wouldn’t buy into the Stephen Curry-high-on-Kings’-list stuff. I think we’re bringing him in to make it seem like we’re genuinely interested just in case things go poorly for us at picks 2 and 3 and Petrie wants to move our #4 pick to New York (a team that desperately wants Curry).

Just when I was losing my mind this happens.
Not sure why but this calms me a bit. I’ve been so frustrated with the hundreds of rumors going around that I just wanted it to be Thursday and was getting ready for the heartbreak. Now, I’m back to believing that the front office is doing the best they can to pick the best player for this team. The only thing that’sgoing to make this thing even better is Rubio coming back before Thursday, working out for the Kings, and everyone in the FO falling in love with him. Gotta admit that would be a cool storyline.
I mentioned this on the Evans coming back thread but I think this is a great move by the Kings. Rubo was here last week and created the buzz I’m sure this team needs. Like TZ wrote, him staying longer could’ve been a move by Fegan to convince Sacramento to trade up for him. Now he’s gone and Petrie’s throwing theball back to Rubio’ camp and saying that we still have other options so if he really wants be picked by Sac (if he’s still there for 4) he better come back and do a better job at convincing the organization why should pick him, maybe even working out. I want to say there’s a VERY good chance Rubio comes back and works out.

WHERE
IS
LAWSON
?
With the 4th pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, the Sacramento Kings select Rickeke Flynenningday, point guard from Europe, Memphis, Syracuse, UCLA and Parts Unknown.
by otis29 on Jun 20, 2009 3:16 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
Yeah, that's what I find most curious
Why hasn’t Lawson been in the mix? I have a good feeling that he’s not a candidate at the 4 and 23 pics, he should go in between, but you never know, he might fall to 23, and what if the Kings decide to move around. I’m just surprised they haven’t had him in for a look.
by Bitgod on Jun 20, 2009 3:40 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
I don't think
will be drafting another pg at #23. With the one that we probably (90%?) will be taking at#4, we’d have Udrih, Mr.X and maybe BJax…I think that’s enough

I am wondering if it's Lawson that doesn't want to workout for the Kings
At least I hope that’s the reason. Petrie isn’t one to miss anything (or any player)

He’s not worth a #4 pick, and he’ll almost definitely be gone by #23.
