Ouch
If a man is known by the company he keeps, then this is a damning indictment…

People down here in LA
want Dunleavy out too. They want him to only be GM and not coach. I hear this kinda talk all the time in clips/fakers radio.

wow been with Dunleavy for 15+ seasons and no he is just ditching the dude
can’t blame him though. That situation in LA is FAR from stable, so I might be on th first train out too, even if I did have to waste a knife in Dunleavy’s back.
I’m more interested in the fact that he has a 1.00 winning percentage as a head coach, (ha) and that he worked with Pat Riley.

True
but he is a proven winner , 100% winning record as a head coach in the NBA .
Eyen also served as acting head coach on April 12, 2005, guiding the Clippers to a 94-85 victory over the Utah Jazz at STAPLES Center while Dunleavy was away from the team for personal reasons.
Said Van Gundy about the situation: "(Spanoulis) says, 'I was [Tracy] McGrady back home.' Great. McGrady is McGrady here," ..

A Dunleavy protege
Wow. I’m on board….maybe. with luck, he can get MD jr to play here. The good news is, I bet we have plenty of money left for more assistant coaches after we pay him.

what the hell?
this doesnt make any sense .. why would we want this guy and why would he leave LA after spending so much time there

ruh-roh
Anyone whose resume begins with “Dunleavy’s right hand man” should not be considered. But it gets worse: his resume ends there too. My cynicism meter is way up on this one.
Victory is tasty.

I'm ok with this as long as Dunleavy doesn't also wipe with his right hand.

Your well on the way to becoming Clippers-esque.

ye of little faith
The resumè is not the whole story, it never is. The question is: will Eyen’s be Westphal’s first assistant or Mario Elie?

I'm really more interested in Bryan Gates at this point

Isn't this kind of sad....
We are openly discussing assistant coach candidates.

It depends on your POV
I don’t find it sad, but is my insanity anything but a footnote at this point?

ok. in las vegas here. I need to drive by the Palms and have a little chit chat with Colleen...
WTF? How can this happen. Ok on a personal level, I like the idea of a former Gaucho making his way, but the rumor I heard down here in Lalaland was that the whole staff under Dunleavy was subject to dismissal. So, if he was not cutting it in Clipper camp how does this help the Kings? Pookey I am with you on Gates, I sure hope they pull the trigger on him. Elie would be nice, Webber or Vlade would be nice too. Is it too late for Ettore to get a gig as an assistant here, he is available and probably the best coach we never talked to?
Perception is strong and sight weak. In strategy it is important to see distant things as if they were close and to take a distanced view of close things.

Niether Webber or Vlade are coaches
While I love them to death, I don’t think they have what it takes. Not to mention they probably have better gigs already.
And yeah, Ettore has already been hired by another European team….can’t remember which one though

that might be
a good think to not cut it in clipper land because dunleavt shouldnt be coach either. talk on the lakers/clippers radio down here shows that people really want dunleavy to be GM but not coach because he can scout talent but sucks at coaching.

How reliable is Vescey?
And, if your team was about to draft Blake Griffin, why would you leave?
The draft lottery has reinforced my belief that there are not enough bad words in the English language.

You people are making too much of this. I’m worried about how the Kings would deal with an advance scout.

Right Pookey
When the GM and Head Coach are the same person, he has to look two steps down the ladder for a scapegoat. Obviously there’s a fundamental disagreement happening if they’re parting ways after so many years, so he must be more than just a MD lackey. He’s not guilty by association as far as I’m concerned. Maybe he’s the only reason that Dunleavy has been able to stay in a job for so long, despite his record.

Plenty of good coaches have bad protege’s, maybe a not a so great coach has a good protege. I don’t think you can go that wrong with a guy with 15 years of NBA experience.
