[Jonny] Flynn was at the top of their board coming into the workout, but [Tyreke] Evans emerged at the top. His physicality was just too much for Flynn, Curry or Calathes to handle. As one Kings scout remarked, "It was a man beating up boys."

and around and around she goes where she stops nobody knows
Now Evans at the top?
ousting Flynn, who ousted Rubio, who ousted Holiday.
I really won't be unhappy
with Evans. He could be a great pick, and RR has yet to do his things in his workout

Go Kings!
From the tape
it was impossible to tell who came out on top – they all looked good on offense. I think there was maybe 1 missed shot the entire clip.
I have it on good intelligence from Chad Ford that the Kings are drafting
Jordan Hill Jrue Holiday Tyreke Evans Jrue Holiday Tyreke Evans…

It's kinda ironic you bring up Dick
when you mention someone doesn’t know anything about, well, Dick.

Except for the part about Rubio...
“And from what I can gather, Sunday might end up being the day Ricky Rubio lost his chance to get drafted by the Kings if he’s still available at No. 4.”
Yikes.
Smoke
The Kings are doing a good job at leaking multiple names for their selection. Keep the experts guessing, and hope the guy you want is there at #4. Maybe someone trades up and the Kings get their choice later in the round. It’ll be interesting to watch!
Unimpressed.
The consensus here before the workout was that Tyreke would beat up on them physically, given his size. However, I am still not even close to convinced that he can play PG effectively in the NBA. I think/hope this is just a smoke screen, and suspect it is given how tight-lipped GP and the front office normally are about their draft preferences.
LOL
No one here believes it but Chad Ford reports it like the gospel. Is it too late to sell my Enron stock to Chad?
Evans is a genius
Somehow he’s avoided working out against anyone his size at his natural position (SG) that would be a fair matchup (Williams). Instead he gets to work out against point guards half his size, so he ends up looking like a “man beating up boys”.
I gotta give him credit for brilliant marketing. I just hope the Kings don’t fall for it.
But that doesn't really hold up
If it was all about size, every team would have only powerforwards and centers. Yes, Evans was bigger than the other point guards. But if he was playing out of position, the “true” points should have been able to exploit that with their speed, ball handling, etc. That’s why it was very difficult to put somebody like Artest on a fast PG when we had him. I’m not lobbying for or against Evans. But if he did come out of the scrimages looking like a man against boys, it would lead you to believe he can play the point—which he clearly did in college.

If
Evans can even be adequate handling the point in the NBA, he’s got the potential to be a hell of a fit for the Kings. He’s clearly a talented offensive player, and he will greatly improve the backcourt defense. And this team needs help both offensively and defensively.
With the 4th pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, the Sacramento Kings select Rickeke Flynenningday, point guard from Europe, Memphis, Syracuse, UCLA and Parts Unknown.
His disadvantage would only be in real-game, open court situations - not in these workouts
Imagine Joe Johnson working out against Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Tony Parker, etc. In one-on-one and 3-on-3 drills, he would absolutely manhandle them. He can post them up, drive in on them at will, and shoot over them without a problem. He would barely even have to work to score, and he’s a good enough defender to be able to use his length to make any of them work for every point. He would look like a man against boys, but that doesn’t necessarily make him a much better player than any of them – he would just look that way because of the situation.
I think this is a good example because Joe Johnson can also play the point if necessary, but he’s better suited to playing shooting guard. This is how I think of Evans.
Yeah Joe Johnson is a very good comparison

Johnson is an excellent shooter
that’s very key to his game.

Yeah true
Look at his college stats. 47% from the field as a freshman and sophomore. So, yeah, he has been.

No more 3 on 3
Somebody has got to do something so that potential draftees can scrimage 5 on 5. That’s the only way you can tell what these guys can actually do.
Too bad if it hurts some agents wallet because he is trying to hide the inadacuasies of his client. The league needs to man up and change this.
It doesn't just hurt the agent's wallet
It hurts the player’s wallet. And the agent is supposed to protect the interests of their players right?
