No Jam?

To keep the theme?

But anyway, has this been confirmed by a reputable news source?

What a sad, strange life

At least it seemed that way from the outside looking in.

RIP Michael.

With the 4th pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, the Sacramento Kings select Rickeke Flynenningday, point guard from Europe, Memphis, Syracuse, UCLA and Parts Unknown.

Wait thats real?

I thought it was simply a joke from last thread. Wow. RIP.

Father of the "Natt this!" movement.

Is he actually dead?

I understand that he’s in a coma and is basically at death’s door, but not actually gone yet. Right?

Right? :(

Didn't read the article or wait for the graphic to load

MICHAEL JORDAN IS DEAD?!?!

But seriously, has anyone other than TMZ confirmed the death?

Rocks are free, and slingshots easily stolen.

Yep

LA Times has it on their front page:

MSNBC running the blurb at the top

That the LA Times is reporting the same.

With the 4th pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, the Sacramento Kings select Rickeke Flynenningday, point guard from Europe, Memphis, Syracuse, UCLA and Parts Unknown.

You're heartless, dude.

I think there was actually a player on the Kings back in the day named Michael Jackson. Played guard.

Sad story. 50 years old is young. I feel for the kids and his family, and fans worldwide.

Don't lecture anybody

Michael Jackson was hardly a saint.

And

I think that was Bitgod’s joke. There used to be a player named Michael Jackson during the Kenny Smith era. He’s the guy who actually hired him to work on TNT.

My father died at 55 of cardiac arrest. So I am sensitive to seeing a life cut short. Even if he wasn’t a saint. Fuck you if you’re offended.

Sorry about your dad blob

50, 55? Either way it’s way too damn early.

Agreed.

My father died of cardiac arrest when he was 27. Nobody is a saint. He still deserves some sensitivity.

I work literally right across the street of the UCLA Med Center

I’ve been watching this unfold from my desk for the last hour plus. Choppers at first, then the news vans. I went outside to see for myself and saw roughly 6 paparazzi pour out of an SUV clown-car style. This place is going to be a circus in about 15 minutes now that the news has broken that he has indeed died.

by The Ghost of Dick Bavetta on Jun 25, 2009 3:37 PM PDT reply actions   1 recs

An elderly black woman was standing next to me when she hear the news, and even though she had heard it was confirmed, she was in tears saying, “They’ll bring him back. They’ll bring him back.” That broke my heart.

Whaat?!?!

Aww man! What a horrible omen to hang over this draft… I remember growing up to MJ’s music. RIP Michael

Ironic

A State Farm add on ESPN minutes before the draft coverage is set to begin, set to the tune of “I’ll be there.”
