It is on like Donkey Kong
And Petrie has a pocket full of quarters!
With the 4th pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, the Sacramento Kings select Rickeke Flynenningday, point guard from Europe, Memphis, Syracuse, UCLA and Parts Unknown.
I think the Blazers screwed up my Draft contest picks
I had Evans Casspi Brown, but with Portland trading to 22, I think they wany Casspi and knew they’d have to leapfrog us.

Went down pretty smooth yesterday
Right now I’m on 7 Tecate lights. The tequila’s for after the draft, either for celebration or commiseration.
Father of the "Natt this!" movement.
yep.
Tecate is actually the most popular and cheap beer here. Modelo is nice and so is Dos Equis. They actually came out with a Pacifico light over here and I tried it but its not that great.

Its been a long wait
Lets get to it and hopefully an entertaining draft and the team improves greatly

I have learned over the years that I always say I won’t get my hopes up for sports related issues. But I still do and get heart broken every time. So on that note….RUUUUBBBIIIOOOOO

Odds
That David Stern walks to the podium within the first 5 picks and says “I need to announce a trade”?
I say even money.

Thats a good bet.
I think its OKC trading #3 for 5 and 6. I think Minny caves.

I'm starting a nickname thread after the draft.
Or maybe a couple of days so I miss all the lame fanposts from Yahoo.
We could call Tyreke “Drive By” but thats probably not in good taste.

Last minute predictions
I picked Flynn in the contest, but now I think it’s Evans. Color me unexcited.
I think this is where the Raiders make their move...
and trade for a pick. I can always count on them screwing up some draft, even if it’s the wrong one. Watch, they’ll do something for the NHL draft too.
Ok, time to go get a pizza.
I just hope we don't do any Panic/we're broke moves
Like trading Cisco for a late 1st rounder or selling a pick or trading the #4 and youngins for a mid-level PG.
Keep the picks, make solid choices, play with energy and the fans will return.

We’re hearing that Sacramento and Portland are closing in on a deal that would send Sergio Rodriguez and the #38 pick to Sacramento for #31.

He’s always been fantastic when McMillan has let him run.

Sergio is better than Jeff Pendergraph. His three point percentage without heaves was 36% and his passing ability is wonderful on the fast break. If the Kings run, he’s worth more than a second-rounder.
draft dejuan blair
I know
But the Kings need depth, and they need a guy who can do the things Pendergraph can do. That’s why I want him.
This isn’t about talent more or less. I’m going to be pissed that the Kings would consider not drafting Flynn because they have Rodriguez.

Sergio will be a very, very nice player for Sacramento. Portland only traded him to free up the 1.6 million in cap space, probably for a deal in July.

Chad Ford's latest
Chad Ford: As we creep closer to the draft here’s a rundown of what’s going down along with our latest 7.3 Mock Draft …
• Looks like the Grizzlies are still searching for a trade partner and if they don’t find it … it will be Hasheem Thabeet.
• The Thunder are sending mixed signals with people in Ricky Rubio’s camp, thinking Rubio is going No. 3 and people in James Harden’s camp thinking Harden is going No. 3. Stephen Curry seems out of the mix. Thabeet is there too if he’s on the board.
• The Kings were debating still among Tyreke Evans, Ricky Rubio and Jonny Flynn … with things leaning Evans’ way at the moment.
• The Wolves were still trying to get to No. 2 to take Thabeet, not Rubio. Memphis wants Evans and Kevin Love if they do the deal. That may be a problem if the Kings take Evans.
With the 4th pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, the Sacramento Kings select Rickeke Flynenningday, point guard from Europe, Memphis, Syracuse, UCLA and Parts Unknown.
Minny want Thabeet with the 2?? Really??
Good for them. Most of the stuff coming out right now is probably the closest to the truth we are going to get so I’m gonna start listening
Wow if Minny trades to K Love and Evans for Thabeet
They just went back to fail town.

I have a handle of Bombay Sapphire, I think its time to start making Martinis.
As far as the trade goes I figured they’d stash the 31st pick via Claver, but who knows maybe theyll get lucky and stash 23. Its not that bad of a trade especially if we end up with a PG who isn’t a PG (Evans).

Interesting
Via DX -
Just spoke to Sergio Rodriguez’s agent, Bob Myers. He says he was informed that the trade is done. Portland will likely target Victor Claver at 31, although there is some thought that they could be tempted to take him at 22.
Did Portland move up to 22 to guarantee Claver or Casspi?
