Around SBN: Ray Allen Fighting Age, Injury And His New Role

"We think he’s a great, great prospect and has a chance to develop into a real star. He was the best freshman in the country this year. He led his team to 27 straight wins as a point guard. He has great potential at the defensive end because of his length and his physical presence out there. I think another great thing about this is from the time we interviewed him onto the workouts, he always was very consistent in his desire to come to Sacramento and that was really his number one choice as well. I think the fans are just going to love watching this kid play and develop and he’ll be a multi-position player, I think, as things go along, so we’re really excited about it."

Sounds good to me...

Geoff just said he isn’t our point guard of the future… he’ll be a combo guy in the 3 guard rotation of he, k-mart, and sergio…

At USC we're not snobs, we're just better than you.

Makes me feel a little better

But I’m still not happy, lol!

This Casspi pick

makes Tyreke work for me.

It feels weird to say it, but I can actually see us as (brace yourselves) physical, tough, & athletic. I just hope we don’t take another Patrick Ewing Jr. at 38… Hopefully there will be someone decent left.

Dear Geoff

fans at StR don’t believe in you, but I do. Good job.

Agreed. Geoff knows what’s up.

What?

A poster by the name of “mr west” would like to disagree, to him we hold Petrie in very high regard.

Looking forward to next season

Love this pick. We already improved our team with Tyreke.

Our next pick: Omri Casspi

SOLID!!!

it's been prover over and over in the last 20 years in the NBA, you don't need a dominant point guard

just a good solid player at that position. Off guards win in this league or dominant big men, not PGs

Dear Geoff, Redux

It sounds like you’re convincing yourself, not us.

Oh, Evans wanted to come here?

So did Rubio. It was kinda evident by the fact he didnt work out for ANYONE ELSE!

For all the weird negativity being thrown around tonight......

I think this is gonna be the best Kings draft night in a long time…..

Sergio Rodriguez (who might actually be a damn good player given the chance)

Tyreke Evans (I guess a lot of people here don’t remember when we ran the offense thru a certain SG named Doug Christie half the time)

and Omri Casspi (Who compares favorably to Hedo and Nocioni)

So far so pretty damn good I say!

Tyreke's Nickname

Tyreke “The Band-Aid” Evans

I chose that over John Salmons, Version 2.0

He will be Ty-rrific!
