I'm watching this now and thought I'd share

here’s the IMDB for it

It also features Michael Beasley, Jerryd Bayless, Brandon Jennings, Kevin Love, Kyle Singler, and Lance Stephenson. Enjoy.

Hmm... I searched for it to make sure no one had posted it already.

You should put his fan shot on the front page… it’s a great video. Good stuff on Donte

drop mines. bump vfettke’s. Looks like the embedded video breaks the layout.

Hella funny

Beasley has the ball, with Donte guarding him and says “You ugly as shit Donte” then drives to the rim for the reverse

I feel a bit better about Tyreke after watching this.

Hard to be excited about a guy when the only thing you know has to do with his involvement in a murder.

by cabz on Jun 26, 2009 11:03 PM PDT reply actions

Maybe that should be a lesson...

Don’t be too quick to judge someone.

Also, Tyreke’s given nick by the park MC was ’Reke Havok. That sums up his court style really well actually.

WORD

Agreed, Raven. That’s what I’ve been saying all along. Folks really need to give Evans a chance. Can’t wait to see Evans prove all the haters/doubters wrong. Yes haters = Rubio youtube fanboys.

People need to see this to see what this guy's all about. I've been saying it all along

that he’s a humble superstar well-groomed by his brothers. Damn, the kings just got the 2nd best players in the draft who’s superstar written all over him

by KingsForLife on Jun 26, 2009 11:22 PM PDT reply actions

Word, ForLife.

I co-sign on that statement.

by JETisKing on Jun 26, 2009 11:24 PM PDT up reply actions

I'm not sure I would call a 19 year-old that compared himself to McGrady and Lebron 'humble'.

Compared to some of the other players in this video, yes. I also understand that when you’re 16 and everyone is telling you that you’re the next NBA superstar it’s difficult to remain humble, just sayin’…

by cabz on Jun 26, 2009 11:28 PM PDT up reply actions

When people have been asking for your autographic since you were 8 years old,

you have higher expectations for himself. He’s just being honest….he’s a beast who’s got great body control

by KingsForLife on Jun 26, 2009 11:36 PM PDT up reply actions

Goal, yes.

Point of comparison, no.

And I understand that the kid has been placed on a pedestal most of his life, so I’m not overly concerned about the comparison, I just can’t reconcile that with calling him ‘humble’. It’s one thing to recognize where someone comes from, it’s another to call him something he hasn’t shown himself to be simply because he has an excuse not to fit the definition.

by cabz on Jun 27, 2009 10:13 AM PDT up reply actions

Where'd he make the comparisons at?

and what else has he done to show that he’s not humble?

It's a beautiful doc from a Beastie Boy

It’s really shot well. Beasley acts more like a punk in this; pulling down kids’ shorts and playing pranks. However, he produces the most entertaining footage of all the players. They feature K-Love and Derrick Rose a lot. Donte is rocking in this as well. There’s a really nice background section on him too.

Unfortunately...

the Kings have the two guys that had the worst games, or close to it. Was great to watch, but would have been better with Donte/Tyreke actually showing up in the game.

A few observations

- Michael Beasley is annoying.
- Brandon Jennings might be a better passer than Rubio
- If there was ever a person who looked like they absolutely didn’t belong in a certain situation it’s Kyle Singler at Rucker Park
- If there was ever a person who was the epitome of “don’t judge a book by it’s cover…” it’s Kyle Singler. Wireless can ball!
- Michael Beasley is kind of funny though
- Donte might be a little more mature than we think. He also might be a better defender than anyone thinks when he puts his mind to it
- Bayless has game, I’d just like to see him put it all together
- Not as much game footage of Donte and Tyreke as I’d like. But their background stuff was excellent

Loved the background stuff as well. I was most disappointed by the part where they actually played basketball. I wish it was more like Hoop Dreams and focused solely on a player or 2.

by wabut on Jun 26, 2009 11:49 PM PDT up reply actions

I've been sold on Evans for a while. All I got of this video was that Donte needs to live up to his potential

Hopefully he shows dramatic improvement in year 2.

I’m not sure how many of you have seen the JT interview on with Andrew Nicholson but he just gets it. He’s working out because he wants to become better, he understand that year 2 is where you make your mark. He’s very smart realizing that he wants his option picked up and is working for the next deal. Donte just doenst seem to care…hopefully he’ll figure it out this year

Reke Havoc?

A much better nickname is DriveBy. Deal with it. Oakland is a short drive away…

by IrishSlim on Jun 27, 2009 4:37 AM PDT reply actions

IrishSlim?

A much better nickname is o’tool.

I don’t even know you, and I’ve applied an unfair(?) nickname to you. That is wrong, and I apologize. (Re-read for irony)

Irony?

Now you’ve done it.

With the 4th pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, the Sacramento Kings select Tyreke Evans, STUD out of Memphis.

by otis29 on Jun 27, 2009 9:17 AM PDT up reply actions

Actually the better nickname wouldbe

AlmostGotHisLifeRuinedBecauseHisStupidAssCousinHadAGunAndNowPeopleWontShutTheFuckUpAboutIt

Might be a little on the wordy site, but I definitely think its more fitting

Guns don't kill people...

….Jamar Evans kills people. I believe Tyreke. I think he was truly in the wrong place in the wrong time. His cousin’s an idiot, but he’s still family to him. You can choose your friends, but not your famiy.
