Or more specically
Spending 90 minutes with Rubio and his father recently in Spain certainly satisfied the interview process from the Grizzlies’ standpoint.
General manager Chris Wallace and head coach Lionel Hollins had a “productive” exchange with Rubio. They shared their vision of Memphis and the franchise. Rubio spent some time selling himself as well. And then there was Marc Gasol on hand to fill in the blanks.
Looks like Memphis already loaded up their guns for Rubio.

You don't think
They’d want to work him out if they were planning to take him? That “productive” meeting took place several weeks ago.

and not in Memphis.
If it’s out there that a guy doesn’t want to go to a specific team/city wouldn’t it behoove that team to show the player around and sell him on the attributes of that city?
Productive 90 minute meeting = fuck off Chris Wallace.

If you're trying ...
.. to sell someone on Memphis, it may be a plus if they never actually see the place.

And
If you’re Rubio or his agent, you don’t fall for that.

It is
And the U.S.‘s least safe city? That distinction goes to Memphis, Tennessee, with a crime rate of 18% per capita, followed by Atlanta (16%), San Antonio (15.2%), Detroit (13.7%) and Milwaukee (13.4%). These rates reflect the total crimes detailed in the FBI’s report divided by the population of the city
