2009 StR Community Draft Board: Pick #19

Blake Griffin, Ricky Rubio, Brandon Jennings, Tyreke Evans, Hasheem Thabeet, Stephen Curry, Ty Lawson, James Harden, Jrue Holiday, Demar DeRozan, Jonny Flynn, Jordan Hill, Jeff Teague, DeJuan Blair, Earl Clark, Eric Maynor, Terrence Williams and B.J. Mullens are off the board in the first 18 positions on our board.

Reminder: THIS IS NOT A MOCK DRAFT. This is draft board, a list with the order of prospects you'd like to see the Kings pick. In other words, if we were the Kings front office, when our pick came up, we'd take the top name left on our board. So pick your choice, not who you think Petrie or anyone else would choose in a slot.

Explain your choice in the comments, and lobby for who should be added to the next pick's choices. Poll will remain open until 8 AM PDT on Tuesday.

What are the chances that...

Hansbrough can get off that little push shot in the post?

I mean, he’s got all the grit and determination covered, but will he be able to post up?

Shocked that he’s leading thus far.

he's been improving

his stock day by day. He’s not so small as many were thinking, he has got a lot of energy and good skills, so I think he could be a good pick for anyone at this point

Calathes

Still saying it – extremely underrated.

Kings rule! (They are royalty - right?)

psycho t

reminds me of a crappier version of sheldon williams. He has better offensive skills, but I doubt they translate to the NBA.

Gerald Henderson!

Deviating from Casspi

to Hansborugh, think he’s got a chip on his shoulder and will look to prove doubters wrong

I think Casspi has a chip too - he is representing his country

he has an even greater incentive to succeed than most

by betweentheeyes on Jun 8, 2009 1:45 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

That's true

He’s gonna be a first rounder for sure in my opinion.

Interesting.

In my head Gerald Henderson was about a #16 pick. I haven’t voted for him yet. Went with J Johnson.

Lower their expectations and rise to met them

Surprised by the Hansborough love!

He might be a nice addition to a playoff team in need of some energy off the bench, but I think the Kings need to draft for potential/upside given their lack of talent. I would much rather see a guy like Casspi, Green, Lawal, Johnson, Henderson or even Mills taken here.

by cabz on Jun 8, 2009 1:52 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Agreed

I posted almost the same thing in the last poll. Kings need more than a role player. They should gamble on somebody with a higher ceiling.

Going Lawal

He has to move up in my eyes simply because he’s long, raw, talented and capable.

Yeah he could work too

I would rather have Lawal, Brown, or both. My opinion. Means nothing.

Went with Johnson

But him, and possibly Lawal, are the only two posts I’d consider over Mills. Hansbrough may end up playing 10 years as a solid bench contributor but at No. 19 I’m taking a risk on the higher potential – and to me Mills has the potential to be a solid starting point guard. DX has his ceiling listed as Aaron Brooks, but I think it’s much higher.

If Mills hadn’t gotten injured and St. Mary’s made the tourney, isn’t his stock higher or at least as high as Teague’s?

Hansbrough at 18?

Especially over the rest of the PGs on this board? I think Hansbrough is bench material…Adam Morrison at best.

Potential adds for next round

Ellington, D.Brown, Sam Young.
