Will the Kings Add Another Assistant Coach, Scott Roth?
Scott Roth, most recently the coach of the D-League's Bakersfield Jam, was rumored to be a potential assistant coach on Paul Westphal's staff back when Westphal was hired. It didn't happen -- the Kings bypassed both rumored D-League additions (Roth and Bryan Gates) in favor of adding Jim Eyen, Mario Elie and Truck Robinson, and retaining Pete Carril.
But Roth might in fact join Westphal's staff. The coach resigned from his Bakersfield job this week. A day prior, a D-League blogger rumored that Roth would end up in Sacramento. I've been told there's a chance the Kings could add on to the staff, and that Roth could be the guy, but there's no verification. Heck, for all I know Roth could be a candidate for the Timberwolves job!

Is SAR ...
… still on staff? He was retained when Natt was let go, but I’ve heard no mention of him being on Westphal’s staff.

TZ - I am confused
my usual state but:
Wasn’t the word that the salary available for assistant coaches was $650K? The Kings have one Head Coach ($1.5M) and 3 assistants, and one coaching consultant.. SAR is on staff. Petrie, Levien, Cooper, Sterling, Bubba Burrage, Petrie Jr. (6). If you add Jerry that is (7).
I ran out of fingers. Do you expect another hire given the staff already in place? Not knocking it, but if so, what else does Roth bring to the table that none of those other guys don’t ?

It was higher
and that was just a rumor. Something like $850K.
Most of the guys you mention are front office, including Barrage now. Most teams run with 3-4 assistants. I wouldn’t be surprised if they stuck with 3, but the circumstances around Roth make me suspect they could add him as a fourth, especially if they plan on using Reno for D.G. and Casspi. They could send Roth with them instead of Carril (as they did last year).

The Reno Point is something I need to write about with regards to Donte & Casspi
