Take this however you want: George Hill has improved dramatically in one year. And Donte Greene has devolved just as dramatically.

Sigh
It really irked me to read that review from someone we all respect for his bball knowledge. Please Donte, you have the tools. Use em. Use em. Use em!
Screw you Knicks! LBJ to the Kings!!!

One quick note
and I really hate to make excuses but half of the development of a young player is the coaching staff so we have Theus and Natt vs. Popovich.
The other half is all Donte’s fault, but don’t forget who the teacher is.
The future begins now...

It just goes to show you
Pumping iron for a month won’t make you a better player.
Donte still needs to work on his skills and making a role for himself in the NBA. What type of player is he? What position is he going to be? I mean, right now we’re talking about him as a 3, but I think he has potential as a reserve 4/combo forward who stretches defenses with his shooting and takes advantage of mismatches.
The problem is, it’s all theoretical. Donte hasn’t shown anything substantial yet as an NBA player.
The good thing is that he has a lot of time this summer to sharpen up his game and he should have the motivation that his contract is not guaranteed beyond this coming season.

Rush to judgment
Hill is two years older than Greene. Greene is a 21 year old still learning his game. Yeah, the guy could wind up turning out like Quincy Douby. But he could also turn out like Gerald Wallace.

Would rather have Extra E than G-Dub
But, that’s me.

I think Section meant talent-wise he could be like G-Dub
and that he also might not want to be a talent that we just give up on too early.

Do you mean because of the contracts?
or just in general?
I can’t imagine a team that wouldn’t want Wallace.

In general
Not a fan of G-Dub.

I believe in Donte
But I’m wondering if a D-League stint might be better for his career… give him an opportunity to dominate lesser guys to get back some swagger as well as an opportunity to learn the Kings offensive system away from… well, us booing fans.
I just feel he’s forcing it because he feels like he should be a core part of this team but nothing seems to be working and it’s confusing the heck out of him.
Some guys are thinking he’s not invested, but I think he is. I mean, yes, his shot selection is suspect, but hey, so is Stephen Curry’s.

Coming into the league
He was supposed to be a Rashard Lewis clone. I don’t know if it’s a maturity issue, a coaching issue, a positional issue, or just an overall situation issue. But my gut tells me that if Donte was the Cavs, LeBron could surely give him the ball in positions to score and be effective.

Thorpe
how about you start telling Donte this. Maybe blow up his phone and get him to bring his ass to IMG. I’m sure your buddy Jason Levien could help you encourage Donte to go down to Florida.
Honestly, the fact that most of Levien’s ex-clients usually work with Thorpe in the offseason I’m a little disappointed that he didn’t encourage some of our guys to do the same.

Thorpe only likes to work with a player or two from each team
So it doesn’t get awkward.

I'll gladly take the "or two"
if that second one is Donte Greene

that is a very good question
who on this roster would benefit (of course they all would) the MOST from an IMG summer camp?
Dontè seems like the most sensible choice. But what about Tyreke? JT?

Casspi
Around the 2:44 mark … Casspi is going spend week in Sac and then go down to IMG.
Looks like Casspi is the the other IMG King.
