Meh
Seems like a lot of his info is the “general” view. It doesn’t reflect very much attention to the day to day detail of the franchise. While it is easy to mistake it for homerism, there is something to be said for a well-informed fan of a team who pays attention to the details.
So as Avery Johnson, Kurt Rambis, and Tom Thibodeau became unattainable Petrie was forced to settle with the only coach willing to take the job and the circumstances that came with it: Paul Wesphal.
Well, I suppose this is true if you only read the ESPN take on it. But there were conflicting reports as both sides tried to save face. You cannot definitively say that this is how it happened.
Instead they went with Tyreke Evans, who played point guard under John Calipari at Memphis but isn’t a true lead guard by any means.
Not trying to start the debate here, but the fact that we can debate whether or not Evans is a PG is enough that it should stop one from saying he’s not a PG “by any means”.
At the last minute Hawes decided to pass though, indirectly informing the Kings of his decision. They were disappointed with his choice, but as a third-year player with an unquestioned work ethic and dedication Hawes was able to get a pass.
If I recall correctly, he didn’t exactly get a pass. Not with the front office, and not with many of the readers here at StR.
He alse misspells Greene as Green. An easy mistake, I suppose, but it shows a lack of effort when combined with some of his other points.
Thanks for passing it along, Citadel. None of this criticism is directed at you. I think it is always interesting to see outside perspectives on the team. I’m just less than impressed with this particular article.

Hey, I didn't write it
I wouldn’t say the piece is very controversial. You could argue some of those points either way, ie did Hawes get a pass? One could argue that he did, as upper management could grumble about it, but as he was a third-year player who had made strides during the summer before, they weren’t going to make an issue of it.
I know you didn't write it
That’s why I said
Thanks for passing it along, Citadel. None of this criticism is directed at you.
None of this was directed at you, I was just discussing the article itself.

If a Fanshot says Hoopsworld in the title
You can be rest-assured I won’t read it.
