According to sources, Washington looks like the favorite for Stephon Marbury's next gig after Boston came up with an initial offer of $1.2 million, the veteran's minimum. Flip Saunders and Marbury are intrigued about reuniting. Sacramento also has inquired about the guard.

Luckily...
It’s from the Post so it’s probably not true. But I thought I’d post it anyway because it’s the first Sactown free agent rumor that made the vein in my forehead pop out.

In other news
The Sacramento Kings are inquiring with the Cleveland Cavaliers about LeBron James’ availability. The Cavs are rumored to be interested in Sacramento’s Beno Udrih but are a bit afraid of the lenght of his contract as they are still trying to get far enough under the cap for the big summer of ’10. According to unnamed sources the Kings are ready to part with Donte Greene and starting power forward Kenny Thomas to get this deal done.
Cavaliers GM Danny Ferry says “(we) are exploring all options to improve this team and we’ll do whatever it takes to get this team back to the Finals.” At the moment, the deal breaker seems to be Kings’ forward Ike Diogu, who Geoff Petrie calls “a big piece of this franchise’s future.”
One last piece of news: The Minnesota Timberwolves’ coaching search seems to be coming to an end as they are ready to offer coach Kenny Natt a deal for a reported $12 million for the next 3 years
