Is Marion a possibility?

Any of you stat nuts/in-the-know Kings fans believe that Marion may be a possibility?

And who are some more back-up center possibilities? I haven't heard much lately. Would hate to see David Lee go to the Blazers though. Don't think Knicks will let him go, but fear that more than if Hedo had wound up there.

I kind of like these imaginary Kings line-ups in my head:

Evans/Beno

Martin

Marion

Thompson

Hawes

With Second unit of:

Sergio/Beno

Garcia/Evans

Nocioni/Casspi

Diogu/Brockman

Booth/whomever they sign

This is completely, wholly, and uttterly retarded.

Quit beating around the bush

and say what you really think.

It's not possible

Marion wants more money than the Kings have and the Kings want actual production for their money.

You mean we don't want the SF version of Beno?

But why?

i like it, like it aaaalot!

I love this starting lineup with Marion in it, but I’d have to break down the bad news that it ain’t gonna happen, although it’s fun to imaging. I just think GP has something up his sleeves for next off season….How can he not go after any FA’s this year??? Think he might want a shot at the big offseason? That remains to be seen………….TBC……

Nope

Marion wants more than the MLE. The Kings aren’t about to do it.

And that's wassup.

I didn't think it was possible

but was just wondering aloud. Would be nice to have an athletic small forward who almost averages a double double and can actually finish 2-feet from the basketball, unlike most other Kings the last 2 years.

except for the fact

he’s passed his prime.

Adding Marion is a brilliant idea...

in the year 2004. Check your calendar and proceed accordingly.

No matter how you see him

That’s the position he’s played most of his career.

In what league?

Cause in the NBA he’s played Small Forward. See Phoenix for whole career, Miami and Toronto. What am I missing?

Then accompany that with reasoning that makes it so.

How about actually looking up a lineup instead of speaking out of your ass

And seeing he’s actually spent a lot of time playing power forward.

Google is not that hard to use.

by DesertFox on Jul 6, 2009 12:33 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Go fuck yourself

He’s a SF who played out of position. Do you consider Amare Stoudemire a real C even though he played there? Oh, you don’t?

Yeah, go fuck yourself.

Marion

Has always played more effectively in the power forward position. Go look it up.
Hence, he is an “undersized power forward.”

by DesertFox on Jul 6, 2009 9:02 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

He might have played Power Forward but he's not a Power Forward.

Precisely

He’s a SF who was mroe effective in D’Antoni’s system playing as a PF. That does not mean he IS a PF dumbshit.

Shawn Marion will garner the Kings at least one more season ticket holder

because I will buy some just so I can go to every home game and throw dog shit at him.

Anytime someone mentions Shawn Marion the only thought that comes to my mind is, “Fuck Shawn Marion!”

We don't have room for two ugly-ass shots

and Marion’s is so much uglier than Speed’s that Speed might start feeling depressed that he doesn’t have the ugliest shot on the team anymore.

At leat you guys weren't harsh on him...

Marion will never happen. FACT. This is a very good thing. In reality, Steve Nash deserves at least half of Marion’s salary for making him look so good. He’s only worth the MLE in my opinion, but not here, thanks.

Nice to see you guys are all embracing intellectual debate on here though…
