I wonder if Beno will break Kobe's ankles again in Vegas this summer.
That move and subsequent video was almost worth the MLE itself.

couple of early Oct games than a few days off then
a couple of games, then half a week off then 3 games in 4 days with a goodly amount of travel, then a week off for the season to start. Nice ramp up to start the season.
Here’s to hoping no pre-season injuries.
an unreasonable expectation
a reasonable hope

Exactly
Not gonna happen.
A more realistic hope is that Shock, Hawes, Freke and Speed all stay relatively healthy all season. Injuries are a fact of life in the NBA. But those are our core guys and the key to our future. If we get 75+ games from all four of those guys, the Kings may exceed the low expectations everyone currently has for them. Who knows, they might even win 30 games.

If it were up to me, I'd have no more than 3 or 4 preseason games.
And especially with football. I think they play 4 or 5 in the NFL? You’re just risking injury.
As a relative matter
Four preseason NFL games is one fourth of the regular season, and would therefore equate to twenty NBA preseason games. I don’t see 7 preseason games as unreasonable at all. The injury risk in 82 regular season games is approximately 12 times greater. Guys have to play to get tuned up. Some injury risk is unavoidable unless they spend the offseason in cryo-freeze.

Yes, I see what you're saying.
As far as the injury risk, I was just referring to the NFL, not the NBA.
In the NBA, with 82 regular season games, I wonder how much 3 or 4 more preseason games really prepares a team. I suppose it may be good for conditioning.
Not sure how they settled on 7
But that had to be a factor. Money is another one; pre-season games don’t sell that well.

Great Oppurtunity For the Kings in preseason games
25-30 wins is the number being tossed around the blog here and i wouldnt dispute that. But after looking at the slate of games the Kings will play this offseason i am convinced they have a great opportunity to learn from all of the Western Conference teams they will play early on. Playing Portland, Oklahoma City [who they will play in the season opener] and the Lakers should be taken very seriously.
Seriously? I thought this was the preseason. Okay if you said that you have a point but GP did a great job this year of drafting players who are quick learners [or so it seems} and most importantly for Sacramento fans, players that are OPEN to the idea of playing in lil’ ol’ Sacramento. I hope the players and coaches get a good look at some great teams and use it in the season to come.
