Where are you?
This has zero connection to any Kings news, discussion, speculation or analysis but it's the offseason . . and im bored and cant be arsed doing my work for now.
anyways, i stumbled on this online mapping tool and thought it would be interesting to find out where people are at. . .for some reason im constantly intrigued by where certain people are from. . .and im aware that for such a small market team like the Kings, there seems to be quite an international fan base.
The link to the mapping tool is http://www.scribblemaps.com/#id=SactownRoyalty
If you've used googlemaps before, it will look pretty familiar. . .just put a textbox (the ABC button) where you're at with your display name and then hit save. . the password to save the map is "letmein" (without the quotes).
Caveats/Warnings/Guidelines/Notes/Rules etc
1. There are no user profiles/logins and a single password to control the whole thing. This means that any of us can singlehandedly destroy the map or delete everyone's boxes or just plain ruin the whole thing. So please, dont be a moron. . having said that, im pretty sure someone will break this rule now.
2. Putting a marker down where you live is obviously totally your choice. If you want to say you live in Russia when you're actually in Japan - no one will care. If you want to put a marker on the exact street and house you actually live in. . .probably not wise, but again, that's up to u.
3. Make sure you save the map and refresh to make sure it saved it (i dont know how this thing handles concurrent collaboration).
4. Be nice

I am upset
with the California-centric starting point of the map. What is this? A Kings website, or a Sacramento website?
Victory is tasty.
Very cool
I was concerned when I read that first paragraph, but this is a cool idea.
Never forget: I am a complete idiot
It's cool, though reduntand in my case
And iash, the map starts with the view of the last person that saved it. I just opened it and it was zoomed in on Colorado.
I’m more concerned with why I’m the only one, so far, that changed the text color to something Kings related. All you red-lettered half-assed Kings fans should be ashamed.
Ball movement ... is like jogging for most people: They do it occasionally, and it makes them happy. Then they go back to not doing it. - Henry Abbott

yeah. . kinda redundant for me too
but i know there’s a few other Aussies lurking here from other cities than sydney.
on a more serious note….i felt the shame u cast on me. .
Sigh, I live in Laker Land
You all can imagine how frustrating that must be. But, as a native LA resident, I find a very familial connection between the Clippers and the Kings. Pre-Blake Griffin Clippers fans also understand the pain of living in Laker Land and constantly dealing with bandwagoners. They also always seem to find compassion for the Kings team of yester-year that came so close to dethroning our common enemy.
Screw you Knicks! LBJ to the Kings!!!
i live in san luis obispo
shit ton of laker fans here, and the only time i can watch team is if they are playing lakers or clippers. I’m getting the online package this year tho, EVERY GAME!
The NBA: "Where 27 free throws happens"
You guys in the States but not in Sacto
Are you originally from Sacto? And that’s why you’re a fan?
In terms of the Australian league, i just couldnt care less for any other team than my Sydney one (which er…..now does not exist but thats another story)
Originally from Lodi
Which is close to Sacto, I go to games whenever I go back to visit my mom.
The NBA: "Where 27 free throws happens"
Nope.
From Virginia. No one in my family cared about basketball, so when I started to follow it I just picked whichever team I liked watching the most, which was the Kings (this was the early 00s). Also, I liked saying Peja Stojakovic.
"You know the world is going crazy when the best rapper is a white guy, the best golfer is a black guy, the tallest guy in the NBA is Chinese, and the three most powerful men in America are named 'Bush', 'Dick', and 'Colon.' Need I say more?"
-Chris Rock
CWebb was my alltime favorite player
And that love spread through out those glorious Kings teams. On top of that, I was entirely sick of seeing Kobe-Shaq-Phil bullshit drama every day in LA, and the Kings seemed to be the antithesis due to their team cohesion and share-the-ball culture.
Screw you Knicks! LBJ to the Kings!!!
Originally from Oregon actually.
But I spent most of my formative years in Sacramento. Started following the Kings in the early 90’s and stayed true even when I moved down to SoCal.
A lonely Kings fan in a sea of gold and purple...
Woot for being the only one from sac so far
Not to say you guys aren’t welcome, cause you are.
And that's wassup.
