Introducing the 30Q Series
Over the next 30 days, in order to stave off the "no basketball flu," we'll be asking the important questions which will decide how enjoyable the 2009-10 Sacramento Kings season will be. Every day in September, I'll pose a question, try to answer it, and open the thread open for everyone else's thoughts. The questions will generally get more important as we get closer to training camp, though that's not a hard and fast rule. (In other words, I reserve the right to ask about potential Donte Greene Show plotlines later this month.)
It starts Tuesday. In the mean time, pose questions you'd like addressed in this thread.

How will the logjam at the 3 workout?
I haven’t seen anything from Donte yet that would indicate that he is ready for major minutes. Nocioni would probably have to be the starter because of the all around effort/energy/effectiveness. I like what I have seen from Casspi so far although I don’t know that we could put him ahead of Garcia or even Donte at this point. I would expect Garcia to get a lot of minutes at the 2 this year giving Martin some rest…and maybe help keep him injury free.
I hear the term “flexibility” used to describe a lot of these guys, but I don’t think any of them could be effective at the 4 for an extended period of time. Garcia can play the 2 some.

I think in certain situations
Nocioni could play some 4. Other than that, we are looking at a bunch of 3’s, some of which might have the ability to play the 2 (Garcia and maybe Caspi) There isnt a whole lot of options for us at the starting 4 after JT and Sean May (who I really hope can stay healthy…)
Another year, another chance to hope for the team !!

My questions
Why is there always a divot-thing in the side of Cisco’s buzz cut?
Do we own Bobby Jackson’s DNA? Can we clone him?
Will Beno ever become more Slovenian and less Tasmanian?
Does Andres Nocioni ever wash his hair?
Will the Donté Greene show ever broadcast live from Section’s house? Or is he a Roseville snob, too?
How many love letters has Tyreke Evans received from Bukey?

you ponder well
good stuff LPA, but I think you need to come in from the heat.

All of the other questions
Can’t really be answered until we’re well into the season.
Some intrepid reporter could answer most of mine in a day. Except the Beno one. That’s a wait-and-see one.

My questions
Do the Kings do anything with Kenny Thomas this year or does he just sit on IR all year with a malignant hang nail?

The question(s) I'd pose:
Westphal. What kind of game is he going to run, based on past performace/tendencies? What are the strengths/weaknesses of his coaching style.? How does he take this “box of parts” ill-fitting piecemeal team that we’ve had to endure over the last few years of poor coaching, and give it a true “team identity,” and what could that look like? (please no lazy Portland references)

with some extra weight and a committment to defense,
As well as a more free-flowing, fast paced offense, could Donte get substantial minutes @ the 4 position and actually play well? Like the Magic ran with Rashard and Hedo at the forward spots, could Noce and Donte both start and let Shock hustle off the bench as the back-up center.

I think Rashard Lewis is actually Donte's potential
if not a little better. The preference would be to trade Nocioni so Donte could start at the 3 with JT at the 4

Actually I think Casspi would be more like Hedo than Noce
long long term, tho

meant to reply to ice9ine, not you
but I agree. I’d like to see Noce moved for something decent, start Garcia at the 3 but give him lots of minutes at the 2 (really any behind Martin that are open) to open up space for Donte and Omri. Otherwise, Donte should be in Reno again until the minutes are there.

Questions
1. Will some bastardized form of the Princeton ever make it on court?
2. Can Kenny (woof) contribute at all with this coaching change and line up?
3. Will Pookey finally violently assult a newb commenter for proposing the same Beno trade that has been discussed to death the previous weeK?
4. Why does it hurt when I pee?

I can answer the second question
Kenny Thomas will definitely have helped this team get better by mid February.

Couple Questions
1. Why haven’t we traded for Fesenko yet?
2. Do we risk turning Beno into K-9 version 2 by unleashing Sergio Rodriguez on the world? Does it matter?

Some off the top of the head
Will the Kings have an all star this year? Any representation at all star weekend (I’d hope Reke and JT at least, maybe Omri if he’s ready)?
Will Tyreke win ROY? All rookie honors at least?
Does Noce have an important role to play for this team; if so what and if not why hasn’t he been traded?
Does Geoff has any more tricks up his sleeve or is this what we’re going to see until Feb, if not next summer? Will KTEC simply expire for savings or will the GP parlay him into something valuable?
Does Tyreke start immediately?
What’s going to happen with the various minutes crunches (SF and possibly PG)?
Will an emphasis on d (we’ve heard this before from previous coaches to no avail) actually translate on the court?
by LPKingsFan on Aug 31, 2009 12:20 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
I can answer one
Omri will probably not be on the Rookie team during All-Star break, ’Reke is probably a lock, JT is a maybe, possibly a lock if he improves his numbers. He got screwed out of it last year.

some questions, part 1
- can we mic Cisco during games? the guy is always talking to the opposition and they usually are smiling. (after party?)
- How do they decide which assistant gets the parking space next to Paul Westphal?
- Does the 4th, 5th or however many assistant coaches the Kings have: does the low man have to sit in the middle seat on those long flights?
- If twits tweet and slogs blog and we can roast a post: what do you predict is next?
- When is the earliest permissable date to discuss the lottery?
- In what order do you expect the stats to read this season: leading scorers, leading rebounders, assists, steals, FG%, FT%, fouls, TOs, minutes, games played.
- Who on the Kings – past or present – would you like to see on “Shaq vs.” (I vote for OP and Shaq in a police badge flash off)
- Predict the Front Office future for 2010: Petrie announces consultant/retired? Coachie makes it through the season? Maloofs try and sell (pending arena announcements)?

Rantdumb Questions
Has anyone actually seen Sergio Rodriguez since his trade to the Kings was announced?
What is the earliest acceptable date to begin posting articles about the 2010 draft class?
Can we drop an instant ban hammer on the first five people that suggest we “tank?”

Just curious
Would someone be considered “pro-tanking” if they start posting draft class articles too early? I’m fascinated by the line your walking with your last two questions.

Agreed.
Tanking is stupid, considering how we ended up with the worst record and the 4th pick.

Ehh..
1. Will ‘Reke get ROY?
2. Will JT and ’Reke make the rookie-soph game at All Star Weekend?
3. Can the Kings win more than 25 games? (I predict 33 wins for no reason other than being a homer)
4. Will Spencer become the solid center we want and expect him to be this year?
5. How many times will we beat the Wolves and by how much? And…will Rambis wear the circle of protection during those games?
6. Will Donte Greene take less threes and play better D this season?
7. Will Sean May play for his life?
8. How long will it take the nation (ESPN, sportsbloggs etc) to get on Tyreke’s jock if he puts up better numbers than his top 10 rookie peers? * I say by the All Star break since we have no nationally televised games.
October 28th couldn't come soon enough.

1, No
2. No and probably
3. Maybe. Doubtful, but possible.
4.Solid, yes. More than that this year? No.
5. 3 of 4, by at least 10, 1 loss in OT. And no.
6. Your mouth to God’s ear.
7. It would be better than just playing for his health.
8. That question is based on a huge assumption, which, given Evans’ iffy shooting, will probably not come to pass, making your question moot.

How many time

Wouldn't an easier question be
How many times will we not be mad at Ailene Voisin? Cause the answer to that is 0.
