LOL, Warriors
As bad as the Kings have been, I’m glad they don’t have all the bad situations Golden State has.
"It ain't over till it's over." - Yogi Berra
I'd prefer
not having my so-called star, who just signed a new expensive contract, saying he can’t play with my newly drafted lottery pick and I’d prefer not having the “captain” of my team saying he doesn’t want to be here and admitting he is just taking my team’s money because they were stupid enough to give it to him.
That being said, it’s too early to say if we prefer Randolph or JT as they have not accomplish a damn thing in this league.
The future begins now...
I'd have taken Randolph over JT
and still might.
However, I agree with Ed. Monta’s already pissed off the Warriors brass by riding a freaking moped. Now he’s gonna say that he can’t play with the new golden boy in town? It sounds like jealousy to me. There’s no reason for him to think that it couldn’t work, becuase I guarantee you Nelly already thinks it will work and that’s what he’ll play.

Same
I was peeved like hell when JT was drafted over Randolph back on that draft day. It even prompted me to send a few hate mails to Petrie’s office, because I was so pissed.
Not complaining now, though. JT and Randolph are about even.
I think Randolph has way more potential
but its untapped and he might not live up to it, especially under Nelly. We can be pretty sure of what JT will bring in the future. Personally, I’d have taken the risk on Randolph
www.mancancook.net
Randolph had more potential on draft day
less inclination to reach it. If he doesn’t Geoff was right, if he does Geoff was wrong. They knew JT would eventually reach close to 100% because of maturity and work ethic. The safe pick. I think he was a guaranteed 15 and 10 to Randolph’s 20 and 10 or 8 and 5.
I was a Speights guy myself.
probably still would be.

Ya Speights is good
And he and JT probably will have similar careers.

Interesting matchups
Ty/Kevin vs Curry/Ellis. Miss matches on both ends of the court.
Ball movement ... is like jogging for most people: They do it occasionally, and it makes them happy. Then they go back to not doing it. - Henry Abbott
Very interesting
but the advantage goes to us simply because Tyreke’s the only guy of the four that’ll play a lick of D
www.mancancook.net
Plus he could bulldoze right over Ellis or Curry
I remember in Summer League, the Warriors tried their hardest not to have Curry match up with Evans, but whenever it did happen that way, he just massacred him. And even though Curry scored a lot in that game, he wasn’t guarded by Evans very much, McNeal was doing most of that defense. Whenever Evans was guarding Curry, all Curry tried to do was give up the ball cause he couldn’t go anywhere.
Father of the "Natt this!" movement and Grandmaster of the "Never let AnotherStupidSN forget what a Sham-Wow is" Order.
yup
Though in a game situation I’d have Tyreke on Monta and hope Martin’s length advantage allows him to slow Curry substantially. If that fails and both players are getting off, then I’d have Tyreke shut down Curry and let Martin focus on scoring.
Victory is tasty.
I'd probably put Reke on Monta too
And then on offense, neither one of Monta or Curry could stop either Evans or Martin.
Father of the "Natt this!" movement and Grandmaster of the "Never let AnotherStupidSN forget what a Sham-Wow is" Order.
Ditto
Ellis needs to get to the basket or at least to mid range…Reke would have the best chance of staying with him. Martin would be better off trying to hover and the outside trying to get a hand up in time to annoy Curry, Conversely , neither Ellis or Curry can get high enough to bother Martin’s jumper and neither is strong enough to slow Evans. I think I just repeated Monta’s point though.
What-a-mess
How is it possible to root for a 17 win team and feel sorry for someone else? Ladies and gentlemen, the Golden State Warriors!

Gotta admit
I’d love to see ’Reke and K-Mart go up against Ellis and Curry.
"Shut up and Coach!"

This is what I love, LOVE about the Reke/K-Mart backcourt
It’s huge. And there are very few teams where we’re not going to give other teams mismatch problems. Pick your poison people.

What a mess
although Petrie said (or implied) the same thing to me when I mentioned Curry’s name.
I still think Curry is going to score crapload in this league. Is Ellis on his way out of town? Can he be traded with that attitude?

Quite a few teams would probably still want Ellis
And Curry is going to score a lot eventually, possibly like K-Mart. Great scorer, not too great at anything else, although he’ll get a bunch of assists from being the primary ball-handler. He’s a physically weaker Mike Bibby.

Agreed
Ellis stil has value. I’m not so sure about Stephen Jackson.

I think he does
He did lead the Warriors in scoring last year and is probably the only guy on the Warriors that plays defense.

Apologies to Andris Biedrins.

You could be right
I see a guy with an attitude, an ability to turn every former team sour on him, 3 yrs. at $28 million (I think), and a terrible shooting percentage. But it just takes one team with a need to get a deal done.
SACTOWN ROYALTY - Try our thick creamy shakes!
I think if he does get traded
It will be at the trade deadline because someone like Cleveland, Orlando, San Antonio, or Boston decides the season isn’t going as planned and they need something extra, even if its Captain Jack.
But I certainly don’t want him, and especially not for a young team like Golden State. I think it was ridiculous they extended him.

Almost as ridiculous as signing Maggette
Two dysfunctional swingmen and one dysfunctional combo guard. Add that to a mad scientist of a coach with a bad reputation for handling young talent (see C-Webb) and an epically dysfunctional front office, and there would seem to be nowhere to go but down. Golden State might have the talent edge over Sac right now, but they’re definitely heading in the wrong direction.

Seems like Geoff is overdue
You really have to go back to the first Bibby trade. Unless you want to count rent-a-Mobley, who we got for Doug “damaged goods” Christie. Not a knock on Doug, mind you, but facts is facts. The guy was basically finished when we dealt him.

New York might take him
If GS took Curry and Jeffries. Throw in Claxton and one of the young’ns to make the salaries work.
Of course, if NY is making a play for Bron, Cap’n Jax doesn’t really fit. So probably not.

Although even Lebron
Actually needs to have other players on his team. That’s why I don’t really understand NY’s strategy, which seems to be “Get rid of everybody in order to clear cap space.”
From the people who brought you Reggie Musselnatt.

I'm telling you
LeBron goes to Jersey if he’s smart. Russian Billionaire owner, talented young core already (Harris, Lopez, Lee, Douglas-Roberts), a probably top 5 pick in this years draft, a draft full of players at the position of biggest need (PFs), and a move to Brooklyn sometime in the future in a shiny new arena. Add LeBron to that, and you get insta-contenders, possible dynasty-status. Plus the extra cap space can be used to fill out the roster.
Father of the "Natt this!" movement and Grandmaster of the "Never let AnotherStupidSN forget what a Sham-Wow is" Order.
And yet - that seems to be NY strategy
NY NY, It might be hard for LaBron to pass up.
but I agree with a tasty young roster (envious) in NJ

That makes a lot more sense
And Jersey (the team) will no longer be Jersey (the location), but NY. Choose your borough: Manhattan vs. Brooklyn.
The Knicks are barely a team right now. Apart from Curry and Jeffries (both dead weight), the only contracts of note past this coming season are Gallinari, Hill, and Chandler—-not exactly a championship cast. And they’ve got no first round pick next year. If they don’t land a big name free agent (and even if they do), it’s hard to see how they are going to have enough decent players to field a competitive team.
