is everything Milwaukee was hoping for when they drafted Joe Alexander.

What a great freakin’ pick by GP and the Kings.

Omri has been doing it all.

He is like the Doug Christie + Peja Stojakovic Hybrid, he plays with so much heart and toughness and has the motor of a champion, he also is an absolutely amazing 3-point shooter shooting at a blistering 47% pace good for fourth in the NBA. Also his field goal percentage is number 31 in the NBA and his adjusted field goal percentage is 57.5%. @ 12.8 points per game and rising I can see his average jump to 15+ and he only gets BETTER with k-mart coming back, you can never have enough amazing shooters…I mean seriously who do you leave to guard Tyreke or Martin? Suddenly this team is so talented, hard to believe, to put our improvement in perspective I realized that today I am severely disappointed with our 14-18 record even though we have only lost a few games that we should have won on paper.

Hope

i am shocked

that someone named “KobesNig” would turn out to be an obnoxious jackhole. can you imagine what these guys are like in real life? (unfortunately if you go to a LA game at Arco there are plenty of specimens)

the sad thing is that when kobe retires and they inevitably decline, these knobs will just move on to jocking whatever team the top players are on at that time and thus will never have to suffer. unless stern can engineer a morrison and mbenga for derrick rose trade that is.

If Cisco shows that his arm isn’t hampering his shooting stroke much, and he plays tough D (as tough as Ime, which may be the main key to his mins), then he’ll have enough court time to help the team.

Noc had value earlier this year

He had a reputation as a tough guy and a guy that hits shots.

He has played so poorly this year, that I don’t think we can find anyone to take him from us. Cisco + K9 might be necessary to net a true player. I think we are going to end up with Noc until he expires with how he is playing unless we package him as the cost of getting Cisco.

...and a complete zero on offense

Obviously, I have no more insight into this than anyone else, but I really think it may be worth it to see if our guys can play well enough as a team on both ends without a true backup PF getting many minutes (i.e. Donté or Casspi at the 4). I suspect we’ll get our chance to learn the answer to that, based on PW’s willingness to experiment with lineups so far.

Of course, it would also depend greatly on who we’re playing against.

I think that Tyreke may eat up some at the 3 as well.

I think when Martin gets back, we will see a lot of small ball as well with Tyreke, Martin, and Beno out there together. Tyreke still brings the ball up, but can guard other 3’s.

Good problem to have I guess.

Cisco provides good leadership and can really help out in practice. If he comes back and his 3-ball is falling who knows?

by nothingbutnet on Jan 2, 2010 10:10 PM PST up reply actions

Agreed

And I would have thought that his clutch shooting would be his way in. But Casspi seems to have no issue with shooting (and making) with the game on the line.

Too much talent is a good problem to have. But unless there is another injury in this rotation, Cisco’s going to have his work cut out for him when it comes to carving out some playing time for himself.

I was just running that through my mind, whether we can now afford to trade someone like Donté if he's now valuable enough

by AnotherStupidSN on Jan 2, 2010 10:17 PM PST up reply actions

NO WAY

I would not deal Donte right now. Good bye Cisco first.

Donte has the makings of being a special player. Being as long as athletic as he is and showing a new commitment to defense. If he gains some offensive consistency, he could be a force. We already had Gerald Wallace stolen from us when he was raw. No way we let Donte go right now. Teams will want Cisco and he could also be a very valuable trade chip.

I don't disagree

But Cisco is untradeable this year (BYC) and if he can’t crack the rotation, he’ll be tough to deal in the future.

Hopefully, the KIngs can fill the interior defense void via the draft or free agency, and can thus retain their current core of assets. I’m really getting such a kick out of watching all of these youngsters play and progress.

Just got back

Not much to say really. Kings got outplayed by a better team and they lost the game.

The energy did seem a bit low; understandable after last night’s physical and emotional game. They had a good first quarter and then TOs allowed Dallas to go up by double digits and the Kings never got closer than 6 (I believe).

Reke did look a bit hesitant for most of the games and his shot and even his close layups looked rusty. Dallas did a good job on him too. They gave him the mid range shots and packed the lane to prevent penetration. Not a good first game back, but not that bad either.

Omri had a very good game again. Rookie continues to impress and has been pretty consistent on the offensive end. FT stroke looking smooth.

Donte started great with some assists and then dissapeared a bit. He did an awesome job on Dirk in the third and also made it tough for Howard. He’s slowly becoming the defensive stopper the Kings need to throw at the opposite’s player best guy. Not a good showing on the other end; the team could’ve used his help.

JT had a decent quiet night. Spencer was a bad matchup so he didn’t see many minutes; he wasn’t that effective when he was in either.

Beno and Sergio were bleh, Ime and Brockman were meh.

It was really that kind of game. The Kings just couldn’t complete a run to get back in it and not one guy had a good enough game (maybe Omri) to get them closer. This is the kind of game where we realize how much we miss Kevin. Get well soon Speed!

Not a good start to January, though we all knew it was going to be brutal. At least the team has a couple days to recover and hopefully will come out with better energy against Phoenix.

It’s been featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives (after it was already a local favorite), and I think other national programs/magazines. The fries are decent too.

It’s behind the Block Buster. If you’re driving on Sutterville east it’s easy to see. It looks like a dump, but it’s not.

Coo. It's easy to get to from Land Park.

If you know where Land Park & S Land Park meet, just turn the left on Sutterville, and Fords is the right before you hit that Blockbuster. Very easy to get to from the right spot.

What's more to say

for the 2nd game in a row we outscored our opponent from the field and 3pt and still lost he game at the FT line. We gave up 26 FT’s on 23 fouls.

We had 92 FGA’s to their 74, and out rebounded them on the offensive glass, which was just the opposite of the last game in Dallas. Except this time we shot 40% instead of better than 50%.

The only opinion on the game that I have is that their was not offensive continuity. We weren’t running off of screens, very little passes to cutters, the guards weren’t getting the ball inside to anyone, and it basicly seemed to be one post up play after another. But, I’ve got a 101 fever, so I might be hallusinating;

I have him down as 8-for-8 this month in the two games for a perfect 100%. http://www.rototimes.com/nba/player/1800/gamelog

Sorry to be the correction DB, I was just covering Casspi's improved FT shooting and noticed it.

He is 73.1 percent since the “Hack-a-Casspi” game and is at 81.4 percent as a starter. That stroke looks so much better.

It was actually me

Somehow, I had him down as 4-5 last night, and then I added it to the 8-8 that he actually is for January. So he is at 100% for January.

Sorry, I should have known that. I saw that you posted the post game thread last night

Saw it was under Ziller up there today and didn’t make the connection.

Anyway, Casspi has improved so much in that area. That stroke looks totally different now from the line. He is going to be a cold blooded killer and when he starts to hit those FT’s at 85%, he is going to be even scarier.
