The Kings have utilized the 6-foot-10 Greene at shooting guard, but last week, they had him guard LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and Carmelo Anthony in succession. And he didn't do a bad job on any of them. Greene, whom Sacramento got from Houston in the Ron Artest deal last year, has been working with assistant coach Mario Elie all year. "I told him to remember what coach (Paul Westphal) said: 'give him a reason not to take you out,' " Elie said. "It's hard for the young guys to understand, but defense will get you on the court. It's not just offense. It's his defense we're really impressed with. His offense was a bonus but his defense is what's been standing out."

Donte
is becoming one of my favorite Kings and it’s not because he can dunk…I have noticed that whether his offense is on has not affected his defensive intensity. It’s been a surprise but I believe he may be the best overall defender on the roster right now….wow, did i really just say that?
Section214 is my hero. Good shakes!
I'd like to see Donte defend Chapu
Then we’d see if he can guard the best.

The only man that can stop Chapu is Chapu
Unfortunately, he has been doing a helluva job lately…

No mistakes in the tango, darling. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....

Nice props for Donte'
After his horrific last season I urged baby steps for him, he’s taken a leap.

He didn't need baby steps
he just need to take steps in the right direction. Last year there was no one to provide said direction, unfortunately.

So, Donté is our defensive stopper?
Oh boy.
That being said, there is no question that Omri should start and Greene shoud get more time at the 3 as well. I don’t care how they get rid of Andres, I just hope it is soon.
Also, when is Mario gonna teach Donté how to make the corner 3? And then, after that, he need to take Truck’s rebounding class.
Another flaw in the human character is that everybody wants to build and nobody wants to do maintenance. Vonnegut

Corner 3...
Donté is having a very similar issue that Garcia had as a young player. He gets antsy and leaves his post in the corner which collapses the defense on one side of the court. Same as Garcia, it makes no sense for either of them to cut to the basket because neither player can rebound worth a damn. JT threw a ball to where Donté should have been in the Dallas game but Greené had just wandered off to the paint. In many of these situations, a player like Thompson or Hawes is bring the ball to the wing player to run the pick and roll and by leaving the perimeter Donté is disrupting the whole flow of the offense. Anyway, I agree Ice- stay in the corner dude, wait for the kick out or the pick.
No law when it comes to me.
I let you type critics write and I just keep it hood.
That will never change.

he is definitely our defensive stopper, and that really isnt saying much for the kings, who dont really have a decent one on one defender besides udoka and tyreke.
i remember donte getting the game-sealing inbounds steal against the pacers and ever since then i’ve had a fair amount of respect for his defensive game. he blocks like a karate kid when he’s energized

Actually, 2 or 3 good defenders
is well on the road to good team D. Team D just takes time with each other.
